The Green Bay Packers have placed linebacker Anthony Davis on injured reserve and elevated wide receiver Tyrone Goodson from the practice squad to replace him on the team's 53-player active roster, Executive Vice President/General Manager Ron Wolf announced today.
Davis suffered a hamstring injury in the Packers' December 20 game at Minnesota and had sat out last week's game at Tampa Bay.
Goodson, originally signed as a free agent out of Auburn February 17, 1999, had been placed on waivers in the final roster reduction for the regular season September 5 and first signed to the practice squad September 7. Later elevated to the active roster December 1, he was waived December 9 to make room for the signing of wide receiver Charles Jordan.
Goodson, who will continue to wear jersey number 20, replaces Davis as one of the team's four Friday inactives for today's game.
