Mike Sherman
Mike Sherman is introduced as the 13th Head Coach in team history.

Seattle Seahawks Executive Vice President Mike Holmgren (who had Sherman on his coaching staff from 1997-99): "Mike Sherman will be missed. He was a very important part of our staff the last three years and our early development in Seattle. He is a great coach and a great family man. The Packers are fortunate to get Mike and I wish him all the best."

Texas A&M Head Coach R.C. Slocum (who had Sherman on his coaching staff at Texas A&M): "Green Bay has made a great selection. Mike Sherman is a quality human being and very intelligent. He was one of the hardest working coaches I've ever had on my staff, and I know he has continued that work ethic on the professional level. I'm very proud of Mike and I know he'll do well as the new head coach of the Green Bay Packers."

Notre Dame Head Coach Bob Davie (who coached with Sherman at Texas A&M): "Mike is not only one of my best friends, he's one of the best football coaches I've been around. As a person he's honest, sincere and loyal, and as a coach he has a tremendous work ethic and has always been extremely innovative. Anyone who's been around Mike for any period of time has seen the unique qualities that have put him in position to take on the responsibility of becoming the head coach at Green Bay."

UCLA Head Coach Bob Toledo (who coached with Sherman at both Texas A&M and UCLA): "I am extremely excited for Mike. We were coaches together at Texas A&M, and when I came to UCLA I convinced Terry Donahue to hire him as our line coach. He did an excellent job. He's a hard working guy, a great football coach. He's a great person. I just couldn't be happier for a guy. I think he'll do very well."

San Francisco 49ers Director of Player Personnel Terry Donahue (who had Sherman on his coaching staff at UCLA): "Mike has all the qualities and characteristics that successful people in coaching possess. He's knowledgeable, hard working and disciplined. He's an excellent football coach who I'm sure will do an outstanding job for the Green Bay Packers."

Green Bay Packers Tight End Mark Chmura (who was coached by Sherman while he served as Tight Ends/Assistant Offensive Line Coach with the Packers during the 1997-98 seasons): "He'll do a great job here as coach of the Packers. Having known him as a position coach, he's very detailed and a perfectionist. He's also very intelligent and thorough. He has all the qualities that are important as a head coach. The team will take to him well. He'll demand a lot - which he should. He won't let the little things slip. I'm very happy that Mike Sherman is our coach and I look forward to playing for him."
