The Green Bay Packers have signed defensive lineman Ron Moore of Northwestern Oklahoma State, the second of their five seventh-round selections in the 2000 National Football League draft, to a multiyear contract, Executive Vice President/General Manager Ron Wolf announced today.

The 6-2, 316-pound Moore was a two-year starter (1998-99) for the Rangers after transferring from Hinds (Miss.) Community College where he played the 1996-97 seasons. He appeared in 23 games overall for Northwestern Oklahoma State and finished with 99 career tackles, including 15 sacks and 27 tackles for loss.

The 22-year-old Sanford, Fla., native was a second-team All-Central States Football League selection in 1999 as the Rangers captured the NAIA national championship. In 1998, Moore anchored the NAIA's top defensive unit, finishing with 51 total tackles and leading the team with 9 sacks.

Moore is the first of the Packers' thirteen 2000 draft selections to be signed.

In a another personnel move, Wolf announced the signing of punter Scott Terna as a free agent. The 28-year-old Terna, 5-11, 210 pounds, punted for Ohio State during the 1993-94 seasons and spent a brief time on the roster of Tampa Bay Buccaneers last summer, signing June 4 before being waived June 28.

Terna has been assigned jersey number 19.
