Green Bay's two "state" high school playoff teams, the Division II champion Ashwaubenon Jaguars and the Division III Notre Dame Academy Tritons, will be saluted by the Green Bay Packers at Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions in Lambeau Field, it was announced today.

Both teams, each 65 strong, will be seated along the sideline and recognized in videotaped presentations on the stadium's JumboTron scoreboard during the game, with John Jones, the Packers' senior vice president of administration, congratulating the teams and their respective head coaches, Ashwaubenon's Ken Golomski and Notre Dame's John Nowak.

The Jaguars won Division II honors by defeating Sussex Hamilton, at Madison's Camp Randall Stadium, 19-12. Co-champions of the Bay Conference, along with De Pere and Marinette, they gained the state finals by defeating, in order, West Bend East (26-14), Marinette (34-15), Germantown (14-7), and Menomonie (35-14).

Notre Dame, which captured the Fox River Valley Conference championship with a 12-2 record, advanced to the Division III state championship game by defeating Denmark (14-10), Winneconne (35-14), Fox Valley Lutheran (17-14) and Black River Falls (35-0) before losing to Sheboygan Falls in the title game (41-0).
