MORE THAN 34 MILLION ALL-STAR VOTES CAST ON NFL.COM; QBs FAVRE & WARNER LEAD RACE FOR PRO BOWL

With more than 34 million votes cast by fans on NFL.com, Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre (548,614) leads all NFL All-Stars in balloting for the 2002 Pro Bowl, the NFL announced today.
The St. Louis Rams duo of quarterback Kurt Warner (442,573) and running back Marshall Faulk (441,237) rank second and third overall in voting. Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jerome Bettis leads all AFC All-Stars and ranks fourth (435,419), while Oakland Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon rounds out the top five (435,133).
The 34,513,007 votes cast so far is up from 19,010,146 total votes on NFL.com last season and is already the most ever received during Pro Bowl balloting. Voting continues on NFL.com until December 31. Voting at 5,200 Blockbuster stores nationwide concluded on December 2 and vote totals are currently being tabulated.
Fan voting counts one-third towards choosing the squads for the NFL's annual Pro Bowl All-Star Game on February 9 - played for the first time on a Saturday - in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The consensus ballots of NFL fans, players and coaches each count one-third towards determining the 43-man rosters that will represent the American and National conferences at Aloha Stadium. Players and coaches will vote on December 26-27.
The NFL is the only professional sports league that combines voting by fans, players and coaches in determining its all-star teams. Fan voting will be used to break any tie. The NFL became the first professional sports league to offer online voting in 1995.
This year's game will be televised live on ABC-TV at 4:30 PM ET (11:30 AM HT).
