Sarah Koenig, the media and public relations director for the Milwaukee Wave of the Major Indoor Soccer League since July of 1999, has been named as a public relations assistant for the Green Bay Packers, a move announced today by John Jones, the team's executive vice president and chief operating officer.

With the Packers, Koenig will coordinate production of team publications including the media guide and game program, oversee the distribution of media credentials, manage the club's photo library and assist with the setup of media interviews, among other duties.

Koenig replaces Kristin McCormack, who is resigning her position on March 15 to pursue other opportunities in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

A 1998 graduate of Marquette University with a B.A. degree in broadcasting & electronic communications, Koenig initially joined the Wave that July as marketing and communications coordinator, a position she held until being promoted a year later.

In her current post, the 25-year-old Koenig coordinates and implements all aspects of the Milwaukee Wave's public, media and community relations, including interviews, press conferences and player appearances. She also writes, edits and produces all team publications.

Earlier while a college student, Koenig was an intern in the sports department of WITI-TV in Milwaukee (1996) and with United States Olympic Broadcasting in Colorado Springs, Colo. (1997). She also served as a volunteer at the 1996 Olympic games in Atlanta.

Koenig is a native of Middletown, Ohio.
