The Green Bay Packers have waived guard-tackle Alcender "Al" Jackson from the team's 53-man active roster and terminated guard-tackle Pete Campion from the practice squad, GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman announced today.

Jackson, a third-year professional, had most recently been signed to Green Bay's '53' on Dec. 4 to fill the vacancy created when offensive tackle Chad Clifton was placed on injured reserve. The 6-3, 311-pound LSU alumnus previously had been a member of the Packers' practice squad October 2-7.

Campion, 6-4 and 307 pounds, had been signed to the Packers' practice squad for the first time Nov. 27, after being waived from the St. Louis Rams' practice squad Nov. 1. Released Dec. 2, he had been re-signed to the Packers' practice squad Dec. 17. A three-year starter at North Dakota State, he originally had been a seventh round selection of Carolina in this year's draft and later was waived (Aug. 13) after reaching an injury settlement. He subsequently was added to the Rams' active roster Oct. 16.
