| Packers Claim Second-Year OT Reggie Coleman From Bengals
The Green Bay Packers have claimed second-year offensive tackle Reggie Coleman on waivers from the Cincinnati Bengals, GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman announced Thursday. The 6-5 and 297-pound Coleman, a two-year starter at Tennessee as a collegian, was a sixth-round draft selection of the Washington Redskins in 2002, the 192nd player chosen. Placed on waivers Sept. 1 in the team's final roster reduction for the regular season, he was signed to Washington's practice squad where he spent the first four weeks of the season before signing with Cincinnati Oct. 1. He remained a member of the Bengals' 53-man roster for the last 12 weeks of the season but did not appear in a game. At Tennessee, Coleman started 10 games at left offensive tackle as a senior and collected 65 key blocks/knockdowns as a member of an offense that averaged 402.4 yards per game. Earlier, at Jonesboro, Ark., High School, he was rated the best offensive line prospect in Arkansas by SuperPrep following his senior season. Coleman has been assigned jersey number 79. |
