| Packers Sign G Kaulana Noa To Practice Squad
Increasing their practice squad to full strength, the Green Bay Packers have signed offensive guard Kaulana Noa, a former St. Louis Ram, GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman announced Wednesday. Noa, 6-3 1/2 and 317 pounds, a 26-year-old University of Hawaii alumnus, originally was a fourth-round selection of the Rams in the 2000 draft and subsequently spent the regular season on injured reserve. He rejoined the Rams in 2001 training camp and later was inactive for all 16 regular-season games and the playoffs. Allocated to the NFL Europe League for the 2002 spring season, he returned to training camp July 25 and was placed on waivers Aug. 23. Noa later was signed to the Cleveland Browns' practice squad Sept. 10, 2002, and terminated Oct. 1. He then signed on Oct. 23 with Seattle's practice squad, where he remained until signing as a reserve/future with the Seahawks and being activated from reserve Jan. 28, 2003. In training camp with the Seahawks, he was placed on waivers Sunday. As a collegian, Noa was a first-team All Western Athletic Conference selection as a senior, as well as an All-America third-team selection by SportsPage.com. Noa has been assigned jersey number 70. The other members of the practice squad are linebacker Steve Josue, the Packers' final selection in this year's draft, defensive tackle Terdell Sands, offensive tackle Jason Jimenez and wide receiver Scottie Vines. |
