The Atlanta Falcons Thursday announced the addition of tight ends coach Jeff Jagodzinski to head coach Jim Mora's staff.
Jagodzinski joins the Falcons after serving as tight ends coach with the Green Bay Packers. During his five seasons (1999-2003) with the Packers, Jagodzinski was instrumental in the development of two-time Pro Bowl tight end Bubba Franks, who in 2002 became the first Packers tight end since 1995 to accumulate more than 50 receptions in a season. The 16 touchdown receptions Franks accounted for between 2001-02 marked the sixth-highest two-season total for an NFL tight end in a 20-year span.
Jagodzinski (pronounced jay-gah-ZIN-ski) originally joined the Packers in 1999 after spending two years as offensive coordinator/offensive line coach at Boston College. During his two years in Chestnut Hill, the Eagles offense averaged more than 400 yards a game in both 1997 and 1998. The Eagles also allowed the fewest sacks in the Big East over that span.
Prior to Boston College, Jagodzinski coached tight ends and offensive line at East Carolina (1989-96), offensive line at Louisiana State (1987-88) and Northern Illinois (1986) and running backs at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (1985), his alma mater.
