Revamped PackersProShop.com Has New Features, Streamlined Ordering Process

Retooling its website with the latest internet technology and improving its selection of signature items, the Green Bay Packers and Packers Pro Shop have launched a new and improved website at www.packersproshop.com
The revamped site, which was rolled out earlier this month, was designed by the Packers Pro Shop with the help of the team's information technology department and its online partners.
Already known for a wide variety of products and fan favorite features, packersproshop.com has become even more user-friendly. The site now allows for easier navigation and requires fewer clicks to place an order. Larger graphics, close-up views of products and enhanced size charts also make shopping on the site an improved experience.
A key component of the Packers Pro Shop and its economic importance to the team, the site is a valuable sales tool for displaced Packers fans around the country. The site also serves as an outlet through which fans can purchase just-made-available playoff merchandise after the store is closed. Last season, the site experienced heavy usage late into the evening Dec. 28, 2003, after the dramatic manner in which the Packers clinched the NFC North Division championship as fans made online purchases of championship apparel.
"We're excited about the re-launch of packersproshop.com," said Kate Hogan, director of retail operations for the Packers. "It's great to be able to offer the latest technology to our online shoppers. We have a great relationship with all our customers and we feel the improvements to the website will be well received.
"Our store at Lambeau Field is regarded as one of the top team retail outlets in the league and with our online enhancements, we feel packersproshop.com will rank among the league's best retail websites as well."
After an initial purchase is made through the site, shoppers will be allowed to sign up for a personal account, which will save their billing and shipping information. Once the signup is complete, the personal account will allow users to log in for future orders.
When users place an order on the site, they will receive an order confirmation number in addition to the shipment confirmation with a tracking number, including a direct link to the UPS web site.
From a security and privacy standpoint, the site continues to employ the latest SSL (secure sockets layer) e-commerce security measures for shopping cart interactions and credit card usage. SSL protects data submitted over the internet from being viewed by unintended recipients.
Other features of the revamped site include:
* Ability to use Packers Partners discount online.
* Enhanced online shopping carts.
* Ability to look up gift card balances.
* Ability to track shopper's account history (as of April 4, 2004).
* Related product suggestions displayed next an item currently being viewed. |
