Packers 2004 Training Camp Offers More Experience For Fans
posted 06/25/2004
Green Bay Packers training camp has traditionally been an event to experience, but now fans can take in action beyond the field during their visit to training camp. From July 28 - Aug. 31, visitors will enjoy a five-week event that integrates daily themed activities, on-site interactive games, sponsored giveaways and community events.
Visitors can still experience the traditional features of training camp, including the Packers Experience, players riding children's bikes from Lambeau Field to Clarke Hinkle Field, acquiring autographs of players and coaches and getting a sneak preview of the upcoming season.
"We're excited for training camp as we introduce another aspect of the Lambeau Field experience," said Packers Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer John Jones. "With all the new activities planned and having the Lambeau Field Atrium entirely operational for camp for the first time since the redevelopment's completion, this will be our most exciting summer ever."
New to the 2004 training camp will be complimentary daily training camp guides and Green Bay Press-Gazette and The Post-Crescent newspapers courtesy of Wisconsin Gannett Newspapers. The training camp guide will include information on practice times, Lambeau Field Atrium amenities and events and the Packers Experience schedule and main stage programs.
In addition, a matrix board will be displayed to provide daily, up-to-date information to fans attending practice. Daily information can also be found on www.packers.com through the duration of camp.
The Packers Experience, an interactive area previously held at Brown County Arena and ShopKo Hall, will now take place at historic Lambeau Field in the concourse area, adjacent to the Lambeau Field Atrium.
Also new for 2004, the Packers Experience activities will be FREE to the public and open from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. daily. Fans can enjoy inflatable football games and participate in skills challenges.
All children 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult or guardian to enter the Packers Experience area. This area will not be open on Aug. 7-8, 16-17, and 21-22 to accommodate Family Night and both preseason home games.
Main stage entertainment will take place in the Lambeau Field Atrium between practices and embrace a variety of programs including high school dance team performances, entertainment for children, alumni question-and-answer sessions, Gatorade health and fitness sessions for kids and a talent search to find the next teen co-host of the Packers kids show, "G-TV". Fans will also have the opportunity to hear stories of the Packers' past with team historian Lee Remmel.
During training camp, the Lambeau Field Atrium will be open to visitors and contain seven dining options and two retail shop choices. Guests also can take a Lambeau Field tour and visit the Packers Hall of Fame. |
