The Green Bay Packers have waived six players, GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman announced Saturday afternoon. In doing so, the team reduced its active roster from 73 to 67.
An additional 14 player moves must be made by 3 p.m. CDT tomorrow (Sept. 5) in order to reach the NFL-mandated 53-player roster limit for the regular season.
Waived Saturday were three offensive linemen - Joseph Hayes of San Jose State, Atlas Herrion of Alabama and Jason Jimenez of Southern Mississippi - along with RB Walter Williams of Grambling, WR Wilson Thomas of Nebraska and LB Jermaine Taylor of Bridgewater (Va.).
