The Green Bay Packers Saturday promoted wide receiver Kelvin Kight from the practice squad to the active roster and waived linebacker Nick Rogers, GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman announced.

Kight, a 6-0, 209-pound rookie out of Florida, initially joined the Packers Aug. 11, when he was claimed on waivers from the St. Louis Rams. He was subsequently waived Sept. 5 in the final cutdown for the regular season and signed to the practice squad two days later (Sept. 7).

In 2004 preseason action that included some punt return duties, Kight registered four punt returns for 54 yards (13.5 avg.), with a long of 35 yards, plus two fair catches.

Rogers, a third-year player from Georgia Tech, was claimed on waivers by the Packers Sept. 6 from the Minnesota Vikings. He had seen action in all five Packers contests this season, mostly on special teams, and was tied for first on the club with five special teams tackles.
