The Green Bay Packers Tuesday re-signed linebacker Nick Rogers and waived cornerback James Whitley, GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman announced.

Also Monday, the team released from its practice squad cornerback Kelvin Millhouse and added to the practice squad a pair of safeties: Wendell Williams and David Young.

Rogers was waived Saturday to make room for Kelvin Kight, promoted from the practice squad in case an injured Robert Ferguson couldn't play Sunday at Detroit.

Williams is a 6-1, 215-pound defender out of Louisiana-Lafayette. He signed as a non-drafted free agent with Cincinnati May 3, and was waived by the Bengals Aug. 30.

Young is a 6-2, 224-pound safety out of Georgia Southern. He had signed as a non-drafted free agent with Jacksonville April 27, 2003, and appeared on the Jaguars' opening day 53-man roster, before the club waived him Sept. 8, 2003. He has also spent time in the Cleveland and N.Y. Jets organizations.

Whitley was originally signed as a free agent Dec. 10, 2003.
