Packers Re-Sign S Curtis Fuller
Now Playing:

posted 10/27/2004

The Green Bay Packers Wednesday re-signed safety Curtis Fuller, GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman announced.

The move provides depth in the Green Bay secondary, where starters Darren Sharper and Al Harris sustained knee injuries in last Sunday's 41-20 win over Dallas. Neither player, however, has been ruled out of this Sunday's game at Washington (12 p.m. CST, FOX).

Fuller, a 5-10, 188-pound defensive back out of Texas Christian, played in nine games with five tackles (all solo) and one pass defensed as a reserve last season, after the team claimed him on waivers from Seattle, Sept. 1, 2003. The Packers re-signed him as a restricted free agent, Feb. 25, then terminated him in the final preseason roster reduction, Sept. 5. He had been out of football until Wednesday.

A fourth-year NFL veteran, Fuller originally entered the NFL as the Seahawks' fourth-round selection in the 2002 draft.

Fuller takes the roster spot of defensive tackle Larry Smith, released Tuesday. On the Packers' roster, Fuller is No. 29. Practice-squad safety Wendell Williams shifts to No. 39.
