The Green Bay Packers Saturday re-signed linebacker Nick Rogers and placed linebacker Torrance Marshall on injured reserve, GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman announced.

Rogers returns to Green Bay for a second time. Tuesday, the club waived him to make room for running back James Jackson, signed to shore up a suddenly shallow group of running backs. The Packers first re-signed Rogers Oct. 19, three days after they waived him in order to promote Kelvin Kight to an injury-depleted wide receiver corps. Green Bay originally claimed Rogers on waivers from Minnesota, Sept. 6.

Rogers, a 6-2, 251-pound linebacker out of Georgia Tech, has played mostly on special teams in six games this year. He was inactive for the other three contests, and did not appear on the roster Oct. 17 at Detroit.

Marshall, a 6-2, 255-pound linebacker out of Oklahoma, goes on season-ending injured reserve with a hamstring injury. Tied for second on the club with eight special-teams tackles, he had played in nine of the 10 Packers games in 2004, missing the opening game at Carolina.
