The Green Bay Packers have re-signed restricted free agent Paris Lenon. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, announced the signing Wednesday.

Lenon, a 6-foot-2, 245-pound linebacker from Richmond, played a prominent role on special teams and served as the primary backup at both outside linebacker spots. He finished with a career-high 28 tackles (17 solo) from scrimmage, and also contributed eight special teams stops. Playing in all 16 games for the third straight year, including four starts, he also saw action in the NFC Wild Card playoff contest with Minnesota (Jan. 9).

Originally signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Carolina Panthers in 2000, Lenon has played in the XFL and NFL Europe. He spent the summer with the Packers in 2001, then re-signed in 2002 and earned a spot on the 53-man opening day roster.
