On Friday, June 3, the Edgar Bennett Celebrity Bowl-A-Thon will see many Packers trade in their cleats for fashionable bowling shoes as they take to Green Bay's Riviera Lanes to bowl for fun and raise money for The Angel Fund for Children with Cancer, Inc.
The Angel Fund is dedicated to giving financial and social support to families residing in Brown County whose children are receiving treatment for cancer or bone marrow failure.
The event, slated to begin at 6 p.m., features Bennett, a former Packers running back and now the team's running backs coach, along with other current Packers players, coaches and staff. It is the second such event for Bennett, who hosted a similar outing in 2003.
Scheduled to take part are Donald Driver, Robert Ferguson, Ahman Green, Najeh Davenport, Rob Davis, Grady Jackson, Tony Fisher and Joey Thomas, along with many other players.
The Green Bay Packers are proud to welcome Kraft Foods as the sponsor of the event. Brunswick celebrity bowling balls will be sponsored by Bobs' Business and Brunswick Corporation.
Area businesses and individuals are encouraged to support the effort. Lane sponsorships are available as a way to join the fun-filled evening and bowl with a member of the Green Bay Packers family.
Lane Sponsorships: $1,000 for a team of four bowlers per lane, to be joined by one celebrity. Each participant will receive a shirt and team photo, plus access to the Kraft Foods Buffet and tickets for soda. Additionally, company sponsors will have their logo displayed on the TV screen above the lane.
