The Green Bay Packers Friday waived quarterback Scott McBrien. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, made the announcement.

A 6-foot, 189-pound quarterback from Maryland, McBrien originally joined the club as a non-drafted free agent following the '04 draft. Waived just before the regular season, McBrien re-signed Jan. 11 as a reserve/future free agent and was allocated to NFL Europe the same day. He spent the last few months with the Rhein Fire.

McBrien in 10 NFLE games this season finished 116 of 217 (53.5 percent) for 1,722 yards, 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, a 76.6 passer rating.

The Packers expect to take four quarterbacks to training camp, including first-round draft choice Aaron Rodgers, selected April 23.
