In honor of the historic 100th annual Green Bay East-Green Bay West game on Sept. 17, Green Bay East coach John Kolstad and Green Bay West coach Chris Witteck were each named Green Bay Packers High School Coach of the Week, the Packers announced.

First-year coach Witteck served as an assistant at Green Bay West for the previous four years. A 1998 graduate of Northwestern University, he played linebacker for the Wildcats under current Arizona Cardinals coach Dennis Green, after spending his first two collegiate years at Nassau (N.Y.) Witteck is assisted by coaches Tom Sebranek, Andy Belongia, Jeff Behrendt, Jim Hayes, Maurile Washington, Lloyd Nell, Nick Zeitler and Darrin Kehoe.

Kolstad has coached East for the past 18 years, he served as an assistant with West DePere for the 12 years prior to his tenure at East. He is flanked by assistant coaches Jason Berna, Brian Nast, Matt Cullen, Mike Ament, Nick Marcelle, Charlie Dean, Mike Kraus and Mark Keuler.

Kolstad played quarterback at St. Norbert College, graduating in 1975. His father was long-time St. Norbert coach Howie "Chick" Kolstad. Kolstad has four children: daughter Jackie, a junior at DePere High School, daughter Heather, a teacher in Ariz., son Ben, a teacher and football coach in Cary, N.C. and son Andy, a junior football player at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The Eau Claire, Wis. native currently is a physical education teacher at Green Bay East. Kolstad attended Abbott Penning High School and played quarterback under head coach Don LaViolette.

The three-day event will kickoff tonight at 5:30 p.m. with a banquet held in the Lambeau Field Atrium. The century-old rivalry will take place at Green Bay East's historic City Stadium, the former home of the Packers, and will be televised on WACY-TV and can be heard on WNFL Radio --1440 AM. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
