Packers Sign Three Players To Practice Squad
posted 11/01/2005
The Green Bay Packers Tuesday added linebacker Atari Bigby, fullback Greg Hanoian and wide receiver Reggie Harrell to the practice squad, and released wide receiver Craig Bragg and linebacker Zac Woodfin. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, announced the moves.
Bigby, 5-foot-11, 218 pounds, originally signed with Miami as a non-drafted free agent on May 16 before being waived by the team on July 26. He was signed by the New York Jets on Aug. 11 and subsequently waived Sept. 4. A native of Jamaica, Bigby was a four-year letterman at Central Florida, where he registered career totals of 296 tackles, three interceptions and one sack.
Hanoian (6-foot-1, 249 pounds), also a rookie free agent, initially signed with Detroit on April 29 and was waived toward the end of the preseason (Aug. 31). He played linebacker, tight end and fullback at Syracuse and had a career average of 5.6 yards per carry.
Harrell, a 6-foot-3, 214-pound rookie, signed as a non-drafted free agent with Dallas on April 29 where he remained until being released in the team's final preseason roster reduction (Aug. 30). The Texas Christian product completed his college career sixth on the Horned Frog's all-time list for receiving yards (1,812) and is the only receiver in school history to have a 1,000-yard season. |
