| Packers Place RB Walt Williams On Injured Reserve
The Green Bay Packers Friday placed Walt Williams on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, made the announcement. Williams, a 6-foot-1, 215-pound running back from Grambling State, sustained the injury during practice on Nov. 10. Re-signed by the Packers on Oct. 25, he had played at Cincinnati (Oct. 30) and vs. Pittsburgh (Nov. 6), making one catch for 18 yards and one special teams stop. A third-year player, Williams had spent the last two training camps, and the 2004 NFL Europe campaign, in the Packers organization. During the 2005 preseason, he caught four passes for 23 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown, and carried 17 times for 44 yards. |
