Packers Promote CB Patrick Dendy From Practice Squad
posted 11/12/2005
The Green Bay Packers Saturday promoted cornerback Patrick Dendy from the practice squad to the active roster. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, announced the addition.
Dendy, a 6-foot, 190-pound rookie from Rice, takes the 53rd slot on the Packers' roster, after the team placed running back Walt Williams (hamstring) on injured reserve Friday.
Originally signed by the Packers this past April, Dendy posted seven tackles and broke up one pass in preseason action before the team released him at the end of August. The Packers re-signed him one week later to their practice squad, where he had spent the season's first 10 weeks.
Out of football in 2004 while completing his economics degree at Rice, Dendy lettered four seasons (2000-03) for the Owls. A 29-game starter in college, he totaled 130 tackles and two interceptions.
Dendy is the fifth player promoted from the Packers' practice squad this season. |
