posted 11/17/2005

The yearly 'Toys for Tots' campaign will take place prior to Monday night's Packers-Vikings game.

Fans attending the contest are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys which will be distributed by the Salvation Army to children in need this holiday season.

Members of the U.S. Marine Corps will be present at all gates leading into Lambeau Field to assist in collecting the toys.

Earlier collection efforts at Packers games this season have been well supported by fans.

In September, more than $200,000 was donated by the team and its fans to the American Red Cross' Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. The New Orleans Saints game saw the Packers Women's Association collect more than $12,000 and 19,600 non-perishable food items for Paul's Pantry. More than 300 cell phones were collected at the Pittsburgh Steelers contest for the Verizon Wireless HopeLine program.
