Packers Breast Cancer Caps remain available at the Packers Pro Shop, but if supporters of the campaign are interested in purchasing one, they are advised to do so in the next few days as this final shipment is not likely to last through the week.
Kate Hogan, the Packers' director of retail operations, said the final stock is on the shelves now.
"We wanted people to know that we're down to our last supply of caps for the campaign," Hogan said. "A fair number are available, but with the holiday shopping season in full swing, they'll probably be gone in a few days.
"We're very, very thankful and appreciative of the tremendous support this campaign has received. Many people will benefit from the money raised."
Interested purchasers also can check with participating statewide American Family agents, many of whom still have caps available.
The Green Bay Packers and American Family Insurance last month announced 12 charity recipients of the more than $1 million raised in the campaign. The charities, which focus on prevention, treatment or research, each will receive more than $80,000 from the program.
An on-field check presentation to each of the charities is scheduled for the Jan. 1 game vs. Seattle.
Caps, priced at $15 with $5 going to charity, remain available online at www.packersproshop.com, as well as at the Packers Pro Shop and Packers Pro Shop Extra Points.
More than 200,000 women each year are diagnosed with breast cancer, the most common cancer among women in the United States. In Wisconsin, breast cancer accounts for approximately 33 percent of all female cancer cases. |
