Packers Sign Draft Pick Tollefson

Finalizing contract terms with a 2006 draft choice for the first time, the Green Bay Packers Friday signed defensive end Dave Tollefson. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, announced the signing.

Tollefson, a 6-foot-4, 255-pound player from Northwest Missouri State, was the last of a league-high 12 players selected by the Packers in the April draft, a seventh-round, compensatory choice (253rd overall).

A Division II All-American and a finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award, given to the top lineman among small schools, he registered 121/2 sacks in 2005, breaking his school's single-season record. He played just two seasons of college football, and in 26 games, he posted 106 tackles (57 solo), 291/2 tackles for loss, 21 sacks and six passes broken up.

The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Wednesday announced wide receiver Donald Driver, safety Nick Collins and running back Samkon Gado all will receive awards honoring last season's accomplishments at the 2006 Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Induction Banquet, to be held the evening of July 22, 2006, in the Lambeau Field Atrium.

Driver was named 'Most Valuable Player.' Brown County Resident Third Drawing Ticket Invoices Due Friday

The Green Bay Packers Wednesday reminded Brown County residents who received invoices enabling them to purchase tickets for a 2006 game that payment is due Friday, June 23, at the Packers' ticket office.

Invoices can be dropped off at the Packers' ticket office at Lambeau Field from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The invoices due Friday were sent to county residents whose names recently were chosen in a third drawing.

Those selected were sent an invoice for four tickets to a yet-to-be-determined game for the 2006 season. Remitting payment by Friday secures tickets.

All available tickets for the sixth 'Packers Family Night, Presented by FOX 11' were sold out as of this morning.

This year's event, which will take place Saturday, Aug. 5, at Lambeau Field, will mark the third time the Packers sold every available seat in the stadium bowl.

After the 2005 event sold out in three hours, the organization this year implemented a limit of eight tickets per purchase to allow more fans to have the chance to make a transaction.

"We're pleased with the way ticket sales went this weekend," said Mark Wagner, the Packers' director of ticket operations. Lambeau Concessions Still Seek Volunteer Groups For '06 Season

LEVY RESTAURANTS TO HOLD JOB FAIR NEXT WEEK

Levy Restaurants, the company that oversees all food and beverage operations at Lambeau Field, is still looking for non-profit organizations who can provide 20 or more volunteers to work concession stands or run vending operations for the 2006 season.

Earning potential is $10,000-$20,000 per season. The groups must be able to provide volunteers who are at least 18 years old and requires a commitment to each game of the season, including preseason, regular season and any playoff games. Training is provided.

In 2005, 63 groups worked at Lambeau Field and collectively raised more than $700,000 for their causes.

Tickets for 'Packers Family Night, Presented by FOX 11,' go on sale Saturday, June 17, at 10 a.m. Priced at $8, tickets may be purchased either in person, over the phone or via the Internet.

A limit of eight tickets per purchase has been implemented this year for an initial sales period to allow more fans to have the chance to make a transaction.

In-person sales will be conducted at a number of locations, including the Packers ticket office at Lambeau Field. The Lambeau Field parking lot will open at 7 a.m. for fans coming to purchase tickets when the ticket office opens at 10 a.m.

Other in-person purchases can be made at the Resch Center box office and all TicketStar outlets. Area TicketStar outlets include Oneida Casino Concierge Desk, Cub Foods in Appleton, Curry's Foods in Marinette, Dr. Freuds in Manitowoc and Festival Foods in Oshkosh.

As part of a new six-year agreement, CBS 5 WFRV-TV will remain committed to providing Packers fans across the state with the very best football coverage available. Packers preseason games, broadcast on CBS 5 WFRV-TV and on Packers Network Stations across the state, will continue to be produced by a regular-season NFL CBS Sports team in conjunction with CBS 5 WFRV-TV.

Packers Readying For White's Halls of Fame Inductions

VIDEO TRIBUTE AT SHAREHOLDERS MEETING, NAME UNVEILING IN THE WORKS

Reggie White, the late legendary Packers defensive end, is being honored this summer with induction to both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame.

Fittingly, the Packers organization is making preparations to recognize those honors in the coming months.

White, who passed away on Dec. 26, 2004, first will be saluted at the July 19 Packers shareholders' meeting with a video tribute in Lambeau Field.

During August's Induction Weekend in Canton, Ohio, the Packers will help sponsor a reception in his honor for the White family and its guests.

A final tribute will take place prior to the 2006 home opener, Sept. 10 vs. the Chicago Bears, when former General Manager Ron Wolf will assist in unveiling White's name on the Lambeau Field facade as it joins the other Packers enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

A few lanes are still available for Friday evening's Edgar Bennett Celebrity Bowl-A-Thon at Ashwaubenon Lanes. Interested area businesses and individuals are encouraged to support the effort and join Packers players as they trade their cleats for fashionable bowling shoes to help raise money for The Angel Fund for Children with Cancer, Inc.

The third annual Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer, a motorcycle ride to benefit cancer patients and families throughout Northeastern Wisconsin, is gearing up for its ride this Saturday. Last year's event drew nearly 1,000 participants on more than 600 motorcycles.

Several members of the Packers organization are going to support the event. Among the Packers to help start the ride will be Chairman/CEO Bob Harlan, President/COO John Jones, General Manager Ted Thompson, Ahman Green, Aaron Kampman, Scott Wells and Najeh Davenport. The Green Bay Packers Monday announced details for the team's sixth 'Family Night, Presented by FOX 11,' set for Saturday, Aug. 5.

The NFL's most popular scrimmage, the Packers sold every available seat in the stadium bowl for the 2004 and 2005 editions.
