			<title>Spitz Signed, Two Released</title>
			<link>http://www.packers.com/news/releases/2006/07/26/2/</link>
<description>Moving purposely to sign all their draft picks before training camp opens Friday night, the Green Bay Packers Wednesday signed guard/center Jason Spitz. In addition, the club released quarterback Tom Arth and running back Chaz Williams. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, announced the transactions.

&lt;br&gt;Spitz, a 6-foot-4, 313-pound lineman out of Louisville, was the Packers' second of two third-round selections in the 2006 NFL Draft. The 75th overall choice and 15th offensive lineman taken, he started at both guard positions in college but was thought by some scouts to have better long-term pro prospects at center because of his size and body frame. He overcame a knee injury as a redshirt freshman to start the last 38 games of his college career, earning postseason honors in the final three seasons.
