The Green Bay Packers Tuesday signed running back P.J. Pope from the Chicago Bears' practice squad and released center Chris White. Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson made the announcement.

Pope, a 5-foot-9, 218-pound rookie from Bowling Green, had signed with the Bears as a non-drafted free agent this past spring. Chicago's leading 2006 rusher during the preseason, he gained 153 yards on 40 carries (3.8 avg.) with one touchdown. He also had four catches for 43 yards (10.8 avg.) in non-league action.

A four-year letterman at Bowling Green (2002-05), Pope finished his career as the school's only player to rush for more than 3,000 yards and accumulate more than 1,000 receiving yards.

Mike McCarthy Press Conference Transcript - Oct. 30

(How is Miree today?)
Sore - we're still looking at him as far as a couple of his tests. It didn't look very good on film, so he'll be doubtful for this week for his elbow.

(What did he do?)
He hyper-extended it - it's the elbow joint.

(What about Morency?)
He'll be out this week with a lower back. He may be a couple more weeks.

(How frustrating is that after yesterday's performance?)
Frankly, I'm more disappointed for Mo (Morency) because I think you're seeing him getting very comfortable with our run game. He's been excellent on special teams. He's a good football player. He's a tough guy, very explosive. Unfortunately, this is part of the game. It's an opportunity for Noah (Herron) to step in there, but I feel bad more for Mo because he just had his first 100-yard rushing game, and he just really looks comfortable out there. He's a real spark plug on special teams also.

(Do you feel as though you've got something going now?)
I think we have some momentum starting. Two in a row - we've played well for two weeks. I really thought we played a whole football game. I was very pleased in the way we played in all three phases. The special teams, our emphasis was to have a big play in the game. We had a couple of opportunities in the return game. It didn't quite come out, but we're doing a better job there. The offense - when you don't punt until the fourth quarter, that's a positive day. I thought the defense really held them intact and played with a lot of passion. I'm very pleased with this victory.

(In terms of the team coming together, is that how it's supposed to look?)
Absolutely. There are a couple of negative things that you have week in and week out, and when they don't affect the outcome of the game, that's a positive because you're able to correct them and learn from them. We had some communication..

(What is Jennings' status?)
With Greg, we were hopeful he would go today, but he had a lot of soreness from yesterday. He will be a game time decision. We're going to give him 48 hours to try and get ready.

(What did he do yesterday?)
He ran hard on it.

(Will you list him as doubtful?)
Yes.

(Could he play without practicing on Friday?)
Potentially. It's an option. I think you need to practice on Friday - that's our belief - but he has participated in every snap up until this point. I'm not going to say he's a seasoned veteran. I probably couldn't say that about too many of our people now. It's an option. We're going to run him on Sunday and see what happens. We're just tyring to keep our options open. We feel very comfortable with our other guys, very comfortable with the way the week has gone with practice and preparation. So that's where we are at with Greg.

(How's Jennings look?)
Jennings is a lot better today than we anticipated. He's off the crutches and he's going to try to give it a run.

(What's with Ahman's knee?)
We're just being cautious with him.

(When you say Jennings is going to give it a run, do you mean he's going to try to practice Thursday or Friday?)
If you saw the injury on film, it looked to be pretty severe. But he feels good today. He rehabbed today and we're shooting for Friday, so we'll see what happens.

(If you don't have him, how challenging is that with just Driver and the three young guys?)
It's an opportunity for the young guys. That's football, that's what this time of year sometimes puts you in this situation. That's why you have a 53-man roster.
The Green Bay Packers Monday placed wide receiver Robert Ferguson on injured reserve and claimed wide receiver Shaun Bodiford on waivers from the Detroit Lions. Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson made the announcement.

Bodiford, a 5-foot-11, 186-pound rookie out of Portland State, made his NFL debut at St. Louis Oct. 1. He played in three games, recording one tackle on special teams. During the preseason, Bodiford also returned kickoffs and punts for Detroit.

A first-team All-Big Sky Conference selection as a 2005 senior at Portland State, Bodiford caught at least one pass in all 22 of his Division I games after transferring from junior college.
This is a tremendous team win for us, especially coming off the bye week. We had a chance in the bye week to go through some corrections. It's nice to see when you emphasize key components of successful football come to light. The turnovers by our defense today were huge. I just thought the adversity - the changing of momentum, either maintaining the momentum or getting it back was an emphasis for our football team. I thought that played a big part in our success today - to come down here in the heat and have the defense out there in 85-plus plays. I thought it was an excellent team win. I'm very pleased with the victory.

(On the Packers pass defense making three interceptions)
Turnover ratio has been a problem for us, as a football team, particularly offense, we've had too many giveaways and that was a major emphasis for us coming into the football game. Defense did a great job steppin..

Packers-Dolphins Post-Game Notes & Quotes

-Starting left tackle Chad Clifton battled flu-like symptoms all night on the eve of the game and was placed on the inactive list minutes before the 11:30 a.m. EDT deadline Sunday morning. The seventh-year veteran had started all 53 games since the beginning of the 2003 season, after he had successfully rehabilitated from a career-threatening pelvic injury, the result of a season-ending blindside hit at Tampa Bay in November of 2002. His 53-game streak was tied with Al Harris for the second-longest active string on the team behind Brett Favre, who made consecutive start No. 227 Sunday afternoon.

-According to Elias Sports Bureau, Sunday marked the first time at least since the 1970 merger in which the Packers started three rookies on their offensive line.

-Donald Driver extended his streak of games with at least one reception to 70, padding the franchise's second-longest streak. Sterling Sharpe (103, 1988-94) holds the record. Driver also went over 5,000 career rece..

(How much did you get out of Woodson today?)
He practiced. He went through the whole practice. He's sore, but we'll see how he does in post-practice treatment. But he did practice today.

(If he does play, would you be more inclined to leave him at corner and not mess with him at punt return?)
That's something we'll talk about Sunday. We'll go through pre-game, see how he feels. But I think anytime you can put the ball in Charles Woodson's hands, it benefits your football team. So we'll talk about that more. That will be a game-day decision.

(After seeing him out there today, do you expect him to go Sunday?)
I'm hopeful, yes.

(How would you say his movement was?)
OK. Just OK. I think he was feeling his way around. He took all the snaps, though.

(What's the final diagnosis with Ferguson's injury?)

(What can you expect out of Chris Francies?)
Well, he's going to play. He'll most likely be up and part of our multiple receiver packages. He took most of the reps throughout practice, so it's a great opportunity for Chris.

(Who will return kickoffs?)
We are working a couple of guys. I'd rather answer that later in the week. Morency, Noah Herron, guys we've been working before.

(Does Koren Robinson have a knee that may need offseason attention? Will you save a roster spot for him a year from now?)
As far as going through this process for the first time and as far as Koren Robinson's future, I can't really even comment on it, and that's where we stand. We wish him well. His knee is bothering him. He may consider doing something with the knee as far as my last conversation with him. What happens in the future with him I can't get into.
Packers Sign WR Francies From Practice Squad, Re-Sign WR Brewster

The Green Bay Packers Wednesday signed wide receiver Chris Francies from their practice squad. Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson made the announcement.

In addition Wednesday, the club re-signed wide receiver Carlton Brewster to take Francies' place on the practice squad.

Francies, a 6-foot-1, 193-pound rookie out of Texas-El Paso, originally signed with the team as a non-drafted free agent this past May and spent the season's first six weeks on the practice squad. His last name is pronounced "FRAN-sis."

Francies will now wear No. 83 and Brewster has been assigned No. 19.

Robinson Suspended By NFL: Mike McCarthy Press Conference Transcript - Oct. 17

(What did the league tell you about his status now? Is it the rest of this season and the first six weeks next year?)
I got the same information you got as far as the statement. I didn't talk to the league or anything like that. The information is he is suspended, and September 18 is the date.

(It's a one-year suspension. Why is he eligible on the 18th of September, not the 18th of October?)
That's a good question for the NFL. I'm not sure.

(He wasn't cut some kind of deal by the team?)
No.

(Is he still on the 53-man roster?)
He is no longer on the roster, and we'll bring another player up.

(Who are you thinking about?)
We're talking about that right now. We'll make a decision in the next 24 hours.

(Most likely will it be one of the practice squad receivers?)
A good possibility, yes.
Good, quick. Quick.

(Looked like Koren and Woodson weren't at practice today. Are they here?)
Yeah, they're here. Charles was down there for the jog-through, and then he went back for rehab in the pool. We're going to know more about him Wednesday and we're hoping for maybe Thursday. Koren was late at practice, he was involved in a legal discussion. He has the situation in Minnesota tomorrow, but Koren did practice, Charles did not.

(You knew Koren was going to be late?)
(Did you get a sense from everybody that the time off was well-spent and they're ready to attack the second half of the season?)
I think so. In hindsight, I could have probably given them a little more time off, just because of some of the travel difficulty we had, a number of individuals going out and coming back. But it's always good to get away. Practice reflected it today. It wa..

Dan Brunner Of Hartford Union HS Named Packers Coach Of The Week

Dan Brunner of Hartford Union High School has been named Green Bay Packers Coach of the Week, the organization announced Friday.

Brunner has led the Orioles to five Little Ten championships and 10 playoff appearances in his 17 seasons as head coach. Currently ranked No. 1 in the Division 1 Associated Press poll, 7-0 Hartford Union takes on West Bend West for the conference title tonight.

"I'd like to thank the Green Bay Packers for this award," Brunner said. "This is the pinnacle of the profession, to be honored by the Packers. It is a tribute to the players in the program and the coaches on my staff to be chosen for this award."

Brunner and his staff oversee a program of 180 players, including a varsity team of 70. He is assisted by Jeff Daus, Andy Fehring, John Redders, Paul Coffin and Jason Jobst.
(How has the work gone with fundamentals this week?)
We took the Tuesday meeting and went through St. Louis, did the corrections for St. Louis and then practiced those corrections. Wednesday meetings we went back to Philadelphia, because that was a Monday night game. We watched that game, went through the corrections for Philadelphia, all three phases, and we introduced Miami to them at Wednesday's practice, yesterday at the padded practice. Then today we were exclusively Miami.

(How valuable has this week been for you guys?)
It's been real valuable for a number of reasons. Just from a health standpoint, it gave us an opportunity to get some veterans some extra time in the strength and conditioning and the training room, get those guys healthy, get the guys that have been nicked healthy and it really gave us an opportunity to give our young guys a bunch of work. So I think it's been very productive.

Ninth Packers Fan Hall Of Fame Honoree Sought

<a href="http://www.mkemarketplace.com/fanhof/2006/"target="new">Click here to nominate someone online!

The annual search is on for a new Packers FAN Hall of Fame honoree.

The first professional football team to have its own hall of fame, the Green Bay Packers enhanced that distinction in 1998 by establishing a Packers FAN Hall of Fame. It was founded, in conjunction with the Packers Hall of Fame, for the purpose of annually honoring a devout and longtime Packers fan.

As has been the case each of the past eight years, nominees are being sought for recognition by a selection committee. The late Mel Knoke of Appleton was chosen as the inaugural enshrinee in the FAN Hall of Fame. The 91-year-old Knoke, who died between the time of his election and enshrinement, was honored posthumously at the 1999 Packers Hall of Fame Induction Banquet.

In addition to Knoke, past honorees include:
2000 - Louis Gardipee, Black River Falls, Wis.

Fourth Annual 'Spooktacular Fun' Set For Oct 21

TWO NEW HAUNTED HOUSES FEATURED; FREE EVENT OPEN TO AREA YOUTH; HALL OF FAME TO FEATURE SPECIAL CHILDREN'S PRICING OCT. 21-NOV.5

The Green Bay Packers will host the fourth annual Halloween-themed event, 'Spooktacular Fun,' Saturday, Oct. 21, in the Lambeau Field Atrium, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a guardian into the Haunted Concourse and children under the age of 8 will not be permitted entrance to the Haunted Concourse.

CONTRIBUTIONS STILL BEING ACCEPTED AT FESTIVAL FOODS THIS WEEK

Green Bay Packers fans last Sunday answered the call in fine fashion for the Annual Food Drive for Paul's Pantry, coordinated by the Packers Women's Association in conjunction with Festival Foods. A total of $13,432.53 was raised and 22,400 non-perishable food items were collected.

"We send out our enthusiastic appreciation to all the fans who contributed to this cause. It was a tremendous response," said Dr. Kaye Cole, who along with Laura Hawk co-chaired this year's effort. "We also thank Festival Foods for its partnership in the drive and encourage people to continue giving this week at Festival Foods locations. The schools were awesome, too. We look forward to sending players to three of the schools as a thank you for their work."

In 20 years of conducting the food drive, the PWA now has collected nearly 566,400 non-perishable food items an..

OK, I'll start with the injuries from the game. Chad Clifton had a shoulder, he'll be questionable for Miami. Nick Collins got hit in the head there, he'll also be questionable. Cullen Jenkins had an ankle, he'll also be questionable. Brandon Miree got hit in the eye, he'll be questionable. And Jason Spitz, he had a throat injury, he'll be questionable. And Charles Woodson had knee and ribs. They'll all be questionable for Miami. With that I'll take your questions.

(Is Spitz out of the hospital?)
Oh yeah. Yeah.

(Was he sick before the game?)
He was feeling sick and it was causing some discomfort, so we're just being smart with him. They were worried about him, so we had him tested, had him scoped. Everything is fine.

(Was it the throat causing his sickness?)
Correct. Well no, some guys throw up before games, and I don't want to put his business in the street, but he's one of them. He just had some irr..

Packers-Rams Game Re-Airs On NFL Network Tuesday At 9:30 PM CT

Sunday's St. Louis Rams-Green Bay Packers game re-airs Tuesday at 19:30 PM CT on NFL Network's new series, NFL Replay.

An encore presentation of NFL Replay featuring the Rams-Packers re-airs Friday, October 13 at 4:30 PM CT.

NFL Replay airs NFL game broadcasts from the previous weekend, complete with original television announcers and cameras just days after their live airing.

In order to give the games context, NFL Network will add sideline and on-field sound captured during the game and post-game press conference sound bites.

Other enhancements will include exclusive shots and camera angles from NFL Films, allowing fans an inside look at game action they did not see on Sunday. This will give fans a deeper understanding of the game, the players and the coaches.

This marks the first-time in the 86-year history of the NFL that games from the NFL regular-season or playoffs are shown outside their live window.

During the 2..

Mike McCarthy Press Conference Transcript - Oct. 8

(What happened on the last play? Did someone miss a block?)
I don't think it was a matter of someone missing a block. I think it looked like Little got the edge on Tauscher or Brett didn't step up in the pocket, one or the other. I haven't seen the replay but he was able to get his hand on the ball.

(Has to be a frustrating end, right?)
It was a very disappointing loss. We were in position to win the football game. We were playing to win at the end, and they made a big play. Turnovers continue to plague us, and we need to get that fixed. I don't know what else to tell you.

(What happened to Spitz?)
Spitz is hurt, he's actually in the hospital right now. He's going through testing. He had something in the stomach area - they're running tests as we speak.

(That's when you went to Moll?)
Correct.
Packers-Rams Press Box Notes

TODAY: Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy meets his former pupil Marc Bulger (the two Pittsburgh natives worked together in New Orleans very early in the quarterback's career) and his former head coach Jim Haslett (McCarthy was Haslett's offensive coordinator in New Orleans from 2000-04)...The Rams make their fourth trek to Wisconsin since the franchise moved from Los Angeles to St. Louis in 1994. The teams also met at Lambeau Field in 1995, 1997 and 2004 - Brett Favre's 200th consecutive start...In six seasons as an NFL offensive coordinator (2000-05), McCarthy is 6-2, including playoffs, against the traditionally high-scoring Rams...St. Louis brings into the contest an NFL-leading plus-10 turnover ratio. Since 2000, when committing one turnover or less, the Packers own the NFL's best record (40-5, .889).
HONORARY CAPTAIN: Former Packers running back Dorsey Levens, a member of the Super Bowl XXXI Championship team, will serve as honorary captain for today's game..

(What is Ahman's status now?)
He practiced today, so we'll see how he does here in the training room. But like I felt all along, I think we'll be fine there.

(How did he look?)
He looked good. Went through the whole practice. Looked good.

(Where was Driver today?)
He had some further tests done on his side, so we're waiting for the results on that.

(Is there possibly some internal damage or anything?)
That's why we had him tested.

(What will he be listed as?)
Probably questionable.

(Is it the possibility of a cracked rib or something?)
It's just uncomfortable. So we're being proactive and sent him for some further tests. He just got back, so I don't have any more information than that.

(Are you going to call up one of the wide receivers from the practice squad just in case?)
Yeah, that could be an op..
Trost and his staff oversee a program of 62 players, 36 of whom compete on the varsity squad. He is assisted by Alex Koepsell, Chris Spiers, Shawn Carr, Matt Paulson, Don Davidson, Dave Magnussen, Tim Schultz and Eric Kluge.

NATIONALLY RENOWNED SOUTHERN MISS MARCHING BAND TO ENTERTAIN BEFORE, AT HALFTIME AND AFTER RAMS CONTEST

The 245-member marching band, including the Dixie Darlings dance team, will begin the day at Brett Favre's Steakhouse for a 10 a.m. tailgate party.
(Was Favre able to do anything other than individual stuff?)
No, he just went through the jog through, and we sat him down for the rest of the practice.

(Do you expect him to be able to come back tomorrow?)
I'm hopeful he'll go tomorrow. He's just sore today.

(Is Koren not here today?)
Koren is not here today.

(Is that because of his legal situation?)
Correct.

(With the short week, is he still going to be able to prepare for Sunday?)
Yes, we anticipate so. Yes.

(Will he be back tomorrow?)
Hopeful, yes.

(Do you know when you'll get word on his future?)

Packers Make Three Roster Moves

The Green Bay Packers Wednesday promoted cornerback Patrick Dendy from the practice squad to the active roster and placed defensive tackle Kenderick Allen on injured reserve. Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson made the announcement.

In addition Wednesday, the club signed linebacker Spencer Havner to replace Dendy on the practice squad.

Dendy, a 6-foot, 190-pound defensive back, is in his second year out of Rice. In 2005, he spent the season's first 10 weeks on the practice squad before making his NFL debut on Nov. 13 at Atlanta and playing in four games. Green Bay originally signed Dendy as a non-drafted free agent in the spring of 2005.

Havner (pronounced HEY-vner) is a 6-foot-3, 245-pound rookie from UCLA. Like Dendy, he signed as a non-drafted free agent out of college. The linebacker spent training camp with the Redskins before Washington released him in its final preseason roster reduction.

The Lambeau Field Atrium is just the place for you on Dec. 8 as the Green Bay Packers put on the 'Holly Day Blitz,' from 5:30 to 10 p.m. on the Associated Bank Club Level.

OK, I'll start with the injuries. Donald Driver, he had a rib and hip. He's questionable. Brett, he's probable with the head and the stinger. Robert Ferguson is doubtful with his foot. Abdul Hodge is doubtful with a knee. Donald Lee and Ben Taylor are both questionable as we move on to tomorrow. Lee was a knee. Taylor is a hamstring.

(Do you know what happened to Hodge?)
I don't know the specifics of it because he came in late after the game. So he played through it. I have not seen the special teams or the defensive tape yet, so I don't know exactly what play it happened on yet.

(Where is Favre at, did you see him today?)
I haven't personally seen him, but I think it will be fine.
(That was on that last hit?)
On the third down play, his last play in the game.

Mike McCarthy Press Conference Transcript - Oct. 2

(How severe is Favre's head injury? Is it a concussion?)
There hasn't been a diagnosis yet, but it was his head and a stinger. We'll know more, but I think he's going to be fine

(It was a close game, then all of a sudden the tide kind of turned for them. How did it turn that quickly for them in the second half?)
Am I worried about it? We just have to keep working, we've got work to do. I thought our defense played very well in the first half, so there's evidence that we can do it and do it right, and we'l..

TONIGHT: The Packers make their regular-season debut on ESPN's version of Monday Night Football...Heavy underdogs, the Packers enter with the mindset that being labeled an underdog comes from the outside. On the inside, they're only as big an underdog as they make themselves out to be...In an improbable quirk, the Packers travel to Philaelphia, a non-divisional opponent, for a fourth straight season. The Eagles hosted Green Bay in the 2003 playoffs and in a previously scheduled 2004 contest. However, the last two instances - 2005 and now 2006 - have resulted because the Packers and Eagles finished in the same slots in their divisions (first in 2005 and fourth in 2006), and the league had slated the NFC North and NFC East same-place finishers to play in 2005 and '06...The Packers play the Eagles for the third time in prime time (all on Monday Night Football, also 1996 and 2003) but the first time in Philly...Mike McCarthy will attempt to become the third rookie head coach to wi..
