Two former Packers greats, wide receiver Robert Brooks and defensive back LeRoy Butler, will be inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame at the 37th Hall of Fame Induction Banquet, to be held the evening of July 21, 2007, in the Lambeau Field Atrium.

Brooks, who retired from the Packers following the 1998 season, authored a distinguished 7-year career (1992-98) for the Green and Gold and ranks 11th on the club's all-time receptions list with 306 catches for 4,225 yards and 32 touchdowns.

One of the most popular and productive players in the team's history, Brooks in 1995 endeared himself to Packers fans by leaping into the stands to share his elation following his touchdown receptions, building upon a move first performed in 1993 by fellow inductee, LeRoy Butler. Fourth Annual 'Project Leap' Set For Feb. 10

The fourth annual 'Project LEAP!' is set for Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Lambeau Field Atrium. The event, free to the public, is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

'Project LEAP!' (Lambeau's Exercise and Activity Playground) is focused on getting kids out of the house to enjoy non-strenuous physical activity.

In addition to the popular inflatables, obstacles courses and a climbing wall, the day will feature four tumbling performances by The Chicago Boyz Acrobats. The team will perform on the Atrium floor and teach tumbling techniques between performances throughout the day.

Information sheets with event details were delivered to area schools recently for students to take home to their parents.

'Project LEAP!' is one of four free community events the Packers host each year, each geared toward bringing families together.

The Packers Tuesday are reminding fans this Friday, Jan. 26, marks the close of ticket applications for Packers Fan Fest. The event is scheduled for the Lambeau Field Atrium March 9-10.

The team also announced Pro Bowl defensive end Aaron Kampman will be participating in the popular gathering which teams fans with their favorite players, past and present. Other highlights again include a Friday Fan Fest kickoff event, autograph sessions and a tour through the team's famed locker room.

A total of 3,500 tickets are available, an increase of 500 from the first two years. The Green Bay Packers Monday promoted Joe Philbin to offensive coordinator, Winston Moss to assistant head coach/defense, James Campen to offensive line coach and Jerry Fontenot to assistant offensive line coach. Head Coach Mike McCarthy made the announcement.

NEW NATURAL FIELD, HEATING AND DRAINAGE SYSTEMS TO BE INSTALLED

The makeover of Lambeau Field's playing surface got underway this week, a project that will bring the latest technology to the hallowed ground.

The north end of field currently is the primary focus of the project as several machines worked to remove all levels of the playing surface. In addition to the front end loaders and shovel tractors chugging away, a nifty configuration of conveyor belts has been constructed to carry the refuse directly from the field out to the parking lot at the southwest corner of the stadium. The arrangement removes the need to truck the materials through the loading dock.

In a project that will take several months to complete, DD GrassMaster, a natural grass surface reinforced with man-made fibers developed by Desso DLW Sports Systems, will be installed on top of a completely new drainage and heating system. The new surface and underlying systems represent the..

Well, there's always just one ultimate goal. I've been asked this the last couple days, how do you register success for your football team. I think success comes in different levels. The ultimate success is winning the Super Bowl, and I know only one team achieves that this year. As you look at the levels you need to climb throughout the season, first instituting your program, I think we definitely achieved that. Changing the culture, the environment, the attitude, we were successful doing that. Improving on last year, making improvement throughout the season, that's important. I think that's a success. So I think we have achieved a number of small successes, but until we ultimately achieve the ultimate success of winning the Super Bowl, we will not be satisfied.
