| Packers, Levy Restaurants Present Awards To Outstanding Concession Stand Groups
At each game, these hard working folks run many of the concession stands at Lambeau Field, pouring beer, grilling brats and burgers, running the cash registers and so much more. The big surprise is that they aren't doing all of this hustling for extra cash for themselves, but for the good of 64 area non-profit organizations. Levy Restaurants and the Green Bay Packers honored these organizations for their time and dedication during the 2006 season with its annual Non-Profit Group Appreciation Banquet at the Lambeau Field Legends Club Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2007. More than 400 people attended the ceremony. These non-profit groups, which include service organizations and school groups, commit to working at each and every game of the season, some of them even bringing more than 30 people on a regular basis to help serve up the mouth-watering food from Levy's concession stands, such as Going Deep Pizza, The Munch Zone and Draft Picks. In exchange for their service, groups receive a donation from Levy Restaurants based on their game-day concession sales. During the 2006 season, these non-profit groups earned more than $760,000 collectively for their causes. Sue Boettcher, Levy Restaurants' director of operations, said, "It's a thrill to be able to host these awesome groups tonight and recognize their successful work through the season. To be able to hand out some additional checks, totaling $2,750, is a fun thing as well. We look forward to continuing this win-win program at Lambeau Field." "The staffing by non-profit groups to run Lambeau Field's concession stands continues to be an excellent program," added John Jones, Green Bay Packers President/COO. "Levy is able to put together an awesome workforce that gives great service to our fans at every game and donations are made to the groups to support the valuable work they perform in our community, helping those in need."
