'Tailgate Tour' Hits the Road Again, May 1-4

TOUR TO MAKE STOPS IN SUPERIOR, EAU CLAIRE, MADISON, RACINE AREAS; HARLAN, JONES, BARNETT, RODGERS, TAUSCHER TO SAY 'THANKS' IN PERSON

The Packers today announced plans for the second 'Green Bay Packers Tailgate Tour,' set for May 1-4, 2007, again setting out across the state to thank fans in person for their enduring and enthusiastic support of the club through the years.

The event, in a reprisal of the popular inaugural tour last July, will include Chairman Bob Harlan, President John Jones and players Nick Barnett, Aaron Rodgers and Mark Tauscher. The tour will take place aboard a customized motor coach emblazoned with the logo "Green Bay Packers Tailgate Tour" and the phrase "Touching Down in Your Community."

The tour will make stops in Superior (May 1) Eau Claire (May 2), McFarland (Madison area) (May 3) and Racine (May 4). Additionally, Kevin Barry will join the tour for the McFarland tailgate party and replace Tauscher for the Racine party, due..

Packers Foundation Awards $144,250 In Grants To 61 Organizations

The Green Bay Packers Foundation has awarded $144,250 to 61 civic and charitable groups throughout the state of Wisconsin in its annual distribution of funds, Gary Rotherham, chairman of the Foundation committee, announced Tuesday.

The 61 groups were guests at a luncheon at the Lambeau Field Atrium. The luncheon is an event that brought all the recipients together and recognized the outstanding efforts and services performed by each of the organizations.

With these disbursements, the Foundation has distributed $1,618,376 for charitable purposes since it was established in 1986 by Judge Robert J. Parins, then president of the Packers Corporation, "as a vehicle to assure continued contributions to charity."

The financial breakdown of the Foundation's contributions discloses that 28 grants - aggregating $79,750 - were awarded to Brown County organizations, among them Disabled American Veterans, Libertas Treatment Center and Salvation Army.

The Green Bay Packers and Mills Fleet Farm Monday announced plans for the fourth annual Packers Draft Party, set for April 28 at the Lambeau Field Atrium.

The event, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (doors open at 10:00), will feature draft coverage on two large television projection screens, and the Packers' flagship radio station, Newsradio 620 WTMJ, will be on hand to provide coverage and analysis throughout the day.

Tickets for the event, priced at $25, go on sale Thursday, March 1, at 18 Wisconsin Mills Fleet Farm locations and must be purchased in person. Children 3 and younger are free.

Packers Fan Fest attendees this year will have more football-related presentations to enjoy, including sessions with offensive coordinator Joe Philbin, defensive coordinator Bob Sanders and director of college scouting John Dorsey, the team announced today.

The additional sessions are part of Fan Fest's increased number of offerings at the two-day event, designed to give fans an informative, first-hand look at different areas of the team's operations, both on and off the field. In addition to the offense, defense and scouting "101" sessions, other new sessions include looks at the team's strength and conditioning and coaches' video operations, as well as an in-depth look at the construction of Lambeau Field's new playing surface. Packers, Levy Restaurants Present Awards To Outstanding Concession Stand Groups

At each game, these hard working folks run many of the concession stands at Lambeau Field, pouring beer, grilling brats and burgers, running the cash registers and so much more. The big surprise is that they aren't doing all of this hustling for extra cash for themselves, but for the good of 64 area non-profit organizations.

Levy Restaurants and the Green Bay Packers honored these organizations for their time and dedication during the 2006 season with its annual Non-Profit Group Appreciation Banquet at the Lambeau Field Legends Club Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2007. More than 400 people attended the ceremony.

These non-profit groups, which include service organizations and school groups, commit to working at each and every game of the season, some of them even bringing more than 30 people on a regular basis to help serve up the mouth-watering food from Levy's concession stands, such as Going Deep Pizza, The Munch Zone and Draft Picks.

The Green Bay Packers have signed five free agents, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson announced Monday.

Additions to the roster are linebacker Tim Goodwell, punter David Lonie, cornerback Antonio Malone, linebacker Marcus Randall and defensive tackle Devarick Scandrett.

Goodwell, a 6-foot, 237-pound player out of Memphis, rejoins the team after originally signing as a non-drafted free agent last spring. Released in the team's final preseason roster reduction, he spent a portion of the regular season on the Packers' practice squad.

Lonie, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound punter who played collegiately at Cal, hails from Palm Beach, a suburb of Sydney, Australia. Signed by the Redskins following college, Lonie was released during '06 training camp. An all-around athlete in high school, he set state track and field records in the pole vault and javelin, and was all-state in soccer.

NEW AUTOGRAPH PROCESS IN PLACE FOR THIS YEAR

Tickets were mailed this week for the third annual Packers Fan Fest, taking place March 9-10 at the Lambeau Field Atrium. Approximately 1,000 people, representing 3,500 tickets, will receive mailings.

During the two-week signup period (Jan. 8-26), about 1,400 individuals submitted applications, accounting for 5,000 requested tickets.

The Packers Wednesday also announced a new autograph procedure for this year's Fan Fest requiring tickets for participation in each autograph session. Upon entering the event, each attendee will receive a Fan Fest program containing four autograph tickets, with each of the four tickets listing the location and time of its autograph session. Fans must obtain the autographs at the assigned times. Autograph sessions will be at varying times during the two-day event, with some attendees receiving one ticket for a Friday night session and three tickets for Saturday sessions,..

Brown County Residents Reminded To Sign Up For '07 Ticket Drawing

The Green Bay Packers are reminding Brown County residents to sign up for the chance to purchase single-game tickets for the 2007 season.

The registration period is currently underway and will run until March 15. Forms are available at the Packers' ticket office, the Packers Pro Shop and guest services desk in the Lambeau Field Atrium. Fans can fill out the form, and with the proper identification (picture I.D. and proof of Brown County residency), register in person. Residents who have already registered, recently or for the 2006 drawing, do not have to re-register.

The upcoming season will mark the fifth year that 4,000 seats per game are available to Brown County residents.

As was the case during recent seasons, if a 2006 selected resident received tickets for a preseason game is selected again to be able to purchase tickets in 2007, he or she will be guaranteed tickets to a regular-season contest.

Favre To Return In 2007

Packers quarterback Brett Favre will be back in 2007.

"Brett Favre informed me this morning that he plans to return for a 17th NFL season," General Manager Ted Thompson said. "The Packers are excited by his decision and look forward to a successful 2007 campaign."

With Favre's return, the Packers hope to continue the success they were building at the end of 2006, when they finished the season with a four-game winning streak to reach the .500 mark at 8-8.

"I am so excited about coming back," Favre told the Biloxi Sun Herald newspaper. "We have a good nucleus of young players. We were 8-8 last year and that's encouraging.

"My offensive line looks good, the defense played good down the stretch. I'm excited about playing for a talented young football team."
