'Green Bay Packers Tailgate Tour' Departs Tuesday

TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR TAILGATE PARTIES IN SUPERIOR, EAU CLAIRE, MCFARLAND, RACINE

The second 'Green Bay Packers Tailgate Tour' departs Tuesday on a four-day, four-city bus trip. The tour, taking place May 1-4, will see the team reach out across the state and thank fans in person for their enduring and enthusiastic support of the club through the years.

The event, in a reprisal of the popular inaugural tour last July, will include Chairman Bob Harlan and players Nick Barnett, Aaron Rodgers and Mark Tauscher. The tour will take place aboard a customized motor coach emblazoned with the logo "Green Bay Packers Tailgate Tour" and the phrase "Touching Down in Your Community." The tour will make stops in Superior (May 1), Eau Claire (May 2), McFarland (Madison area) (May 3) and Racine (May 4). Additionally, Kevin Barry will join the tour for the McFarland tailgate party and replace Tauscher for the Racine party, due to a prior commitment for Tauscher.

Justin Harrell. We felt like he was the best value on the board. We felt like anytime you have a chance to get a quality defensive lineman of his ability, you have to think about taking him. We felt very good about him starting a couple weeks ago, when it starts coming together and you try to work through different scenarios, who might be available, who might not be available, and we felt very comfortable with him.

(Are you concerned about the injuries during his career, and did you bring him up here to check him out?)
No. We saw him at the Combine with our medical staff and they felt very good about where he is. He had I think it was a torn bicep this year that he tried to play on after the start of the season. He had surgery on it and it's fine. I think he bench pressed 24 times even though he hadn't been able to lift much.

Inaugural 'Shindig At 1265' Set For May 12

FUN-FILLED FAMILY ACTIVITIES AND ENTERTAINMENT SLATED

The inaugural 'Shindig at 1265,' a day filled with Green Bay Packers family fun, is scheduled for Saturday, May 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

One of four free Packers annual community events, 'Shindig at 1265' will take place outside in the southeast corner (across Oneida Street from Clarke Hinkle practice field) of the Lambeau Field parking lot.

A main stage with entertainment for the family is featured. Among the offerings are a comedy show, a singer and a yo-yo champion.

Other events slated for the day include three-legged, noodle and gunny sack races, pie eating contests, a petting zoo, a flower potting station and airbrush tattoos. Packers players also will be on hand to participate in the event.

In the event of rain 'Shindig 1265' may be moved into the Lambeau Field Atrium.

Packers Ticket Invoices Due Wednesday For Brown County Residents Chosen In Drawing

The Green Bay Packers Monday reminded Brown County residents who received invoices enabling them to purchase tickets for a 2007 game that payment is due Wednesday, April 25, at the Packers' ticket office.

Invoices can be dropped off at the Packers' ticket office at Lambeau Field from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The invoices due Wednesday were sent to county residents whose names recently were chosen in the annual ticket drawing.

Those selected were sent an invoice for four tickets to a yet-to-be-determined game for the 2007 season. Remitting payment by Wednesday secures tickets.

No. It will depend on how the draft works. I don't know that you can guarantee anything. I didn't realize even that the Packers hadn't drafted, ... we didn't draft one the last couple years? I haven't even thought about that. You can't do it that way. You just have to go into it saying this is where we value this player, and build your board that way.

(You've never traded up, here or in Seattle. Is that something you're opposed to doing?)
No. I think last year during the course of the draft we tried once to trade up. I know that we did it several times in Seattle, tried to trade up, and just weren't able to find a team willing to trade back. It's just the way it goes. Again, it's sort of a reflection of the board. Last..

Final preparations commence this week for Saturday's Packers Draft Party at the Lambeau Field Atrium.

Tickets remain available for the event through the Green Bay Packers, in person at the Packers' ticket office and the Packers Pro Shop, or over the phone by calling 800/992-5750 (a $4 handling fee per phone order applies). Children ages 3 and younger are free.

The event, April 28, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (doors open at 10), will feature draft coverage on two large television projection screens, and the Packers' flagship radio station, Newsradio 620 WTMJ, will be on hand to provide coverage and analysis throughout the day.

Packers running backs coach Edgar Bennett, along with many Packers players, coaches and scouts, will take to the lanes at Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley, Wednesday, June 13, for the fourth Edgar Bennett Celebrity Bowl-A-Thon. Humana is the presenting sponsor for the event.

The event will help raise money for The Angel Fund for Children with Cancer, Inc., an organization dedicated to giving financial and social support to families residing in Brown County whose children are receiving treatment for cancer or for bone marrow failure.

The Green Bay Packers Tuesday signed linebacker Nick Barnett to a long-term contract extension. Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson made the announcement.

Barnett has led Green Bay in tackles three of his four seasons, posting 631 career stops. He has also recorded eight sacks, seven interceptions, six fumble recoveries and 29 passes defensed.

Green Bay Packers President/COO John Jones Tuesday named Vicki Vannieuwenhoven vice president of finance and Jason Wied vice president of administration. The promotions reflect the growth and development of the club's leadership structure as it readies for the transition to Jones as CEO.
