Prior to their Rookie Orientation camp this weekend, the Green Bay Packers signed seven rookie free agents. The additions were announced Friday by Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations.

Babb, 23, was a four-year starter at Louisiana Lafayette where he finished with 6,241 yards passing and 30 touchdowns. The dual-threat quarterback also rushed for 1,489 yards and 19 touchdowns. He was Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week three times in 2006.
Powdrell, 23, lettered two seasons at Southern California, where he made the switch from linebacker to fullback as a senior. He began his career at Saddleback College (Mission Viejo, Calif.) and earned junior college all-America honors in 2003.
Simpson, 22, was a four-year letterman and defensive captain for the Crimson Tide. The linebacker tied for the team lead in tackles as a senior and finished his collegiate career with 243 tackles, 161/2 stops for loss, four sacks, three interceptions and three forced fumbles. He earned Academic All-SEC honors in 2005.
Murray, 22, started all four seasons at Division II Truman State (Mo.). The Iowa native began his career at guard before switching to tackle his final three seasons. Murray is a three-time all-conference selection who earned honorable mention all-America honors in 2006.
Muir, 23, started all four years at defensive tackle for Kent State. He played in 46 games and finished his career with 198 tackles, 35 stops for loss and 15 sacks. Muir was a first-team All-Mid-American Conference selection in 2006 after earning All-MAC second-team honors in 2005.
Birdine, 23, played in 41 games, including 14 starts, at Oklahoma. In three seasons, he totaled 103 tackles, 29 stops for loss, 141/2 sacks, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception among seven passes defensed. He is the half-brother of former NFL linebacker Jason Gildon.
Johnson, 21, played at Mississippi for one season after beginning his career at Hinds (Miss.) Community College. Earning a spot in the starting lineup early in the season, he finished second on the Mississippi team in tackles (94). He previously earned junior college honorable mention all-America honors in 2005.
