(Is it a big advantage for Kansas City coming off the bye while you're on a short week?)
It depends on how you want to look at it. I do not get caught up in that. It's an advantage sometimes to keep playing when you're playing good. That's the way I view it. One thing about bye weeks, there's also a theory that you may have regrets because you haven't played for so long. We could make an argument just coming off our bye week there were some things fundamentally we could have done a better job of. You can go back and forth on that. I'll just say this, we won a big game on Monday night, and our guys will be excited and prepared to play Sunday. That's the way I view it. Everybody gets a bye week, when it comes, it changes every year, but I don't think we're at a competitive disadvantage.

(How did you change things logistically in preparing for this short week?)

For his performance vs. the Denver Broncos, quarterback Brett Favre was chosen as the Packers 'Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week.' The exhibit contains memorabilia from the victory over the Broncos, including a game ball autographed by Favre.

The Hall of Fame's new weekly exhibit, 'The Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week,' contains memorabilia from each week's game, including a game ball autographed by a featured player of the week.

Each Monday (or in the case of a Monday night game, Tuesday), new items from the previous day's game will be placed in the display to be viewed by visitors to the Hall. Significant enough where we didn't think he could make it back in time for this season. They compared it probably worse than Tony Moll's injury, and we all know how much time he missed.

The Green Bay Packers have activated wide receiver Koren Robinson and placed running back DeShawn Wynn on injured reserve. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, made the announcement Tuesday.

Robinson, a seventh-year pro from North Carolina State, was officially reinstated by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Oct. 18 and has been practicing under a league roster exemption since Oct. 22. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound player saw action in four games with the Packers last season as a kick returner and reserve receiver. Robinson will wear No. 81.

Wynn, a 5-foot-10, 232-pound rookie from Florida, started four games at running back for the Packers this season and saw action in all seven games. He rushed for 203 yards and four touchdowns on 50 carries.

Packers QB Brett Favre is a finalist for FedEx Air Player of the Week honors, the NFL announced Tuesday.

Favre completed 21 of 27 for 331 yards and two touchdowns in the Packers' 19 - 13 win over the Denver Broncos. Favre threw a 79-yard touchdown pass in the first-quarter to put the Packers on the board and won the game in the first 16 seconds of overtime with an 82-yard touchdown pass.

Okay, I'll start with the injuries. DeShawn Wynn had a shoulder. Ryan Pickett had a bruised knee. He did return. He did not return. With that I'll take your questions.

That was the play call.

(Why did you call it?)
Anytime you're going for a vertical route, you're going for broke. It was very similar to the play that we scored on earlier in the game. We were actually sliding Donald Lee on the line to attack the middle of the field. They gave us a three-deep. It's much better play to go to Donald on a two-deep but they gave us three-deep and Brett went to the individual cut on the go route. Excellent read by Brett, excellent throw and excellent catch. Greg did a great job by finishing it.

Looks good. He looks to be strong. He's going through a little bit of what Koren Robinson's going through, getting used to his pads and things like that. I think he looks good.

John Nowak, of Notre Dame High School, has been named Green Bay Packers Coach of the Week, the organization announced Wednesday.

"It's a great honor for our program to be recognized by the Green Bay Packers and the NFL," said Nowak, who also won the award in 1998. "I look at this as a team award. We're going to work through that. DeShawn Wynn did not practice today. He had a neck spasm. Ryan Grant has gotten more work than he has in the past, and Brandon Jackson is back in the fold. And Vernand is kind of limited. So we're working through that.

Absolutely. He had a big-time throw just yesterday in practice, a 55, 60-yard throw. He has plenty of arm strength left.

They haven't statistically played real well against the run, but they've changed some things on their defense through their bye week. They had a bye week before Pittsburgh. Koren had a good practice. He's in good shape. He seems to have excellent recall. We only worked on first down today, run and play-action. So the volume of what we put in wasn't very high, but he had a good day.

(Can a guy go that long without being hit and be able to suit up and play right away?)
That's what we'll find out. I really don't want to make any quick decisions. I really want to watch him go through the week of practice. Actually I just talked to him after practice. Everybody is excited he's back. I'm more excited for what he's accomplished and the track that he's on for his personal and professional life as he moves forward. But I'm just going to watch him every day, and we'll make an educated decision at the end of the week.

The Green Bay Packers signed tight end Ryan Krause from the practice squad and signed tackle Orrin Thompson and safety Tristan Burge to the practice squad. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, made the announcement Monday.

Krause, a fourth-year player from Nebraska-Omaha, spent three seasons with San Diego. The 6-foot-3, 244-pound player was a sixth round draft pick of the Chargers in 2004 and has played in five career games.

Thompson recently cleared waivers and was signed to the club's practice squad. Burge, a rookie from Eastern Illinois, is a 6-foot, 210-pound safety. He will wear No. 46.

Released from the practice squad was wide receiver Onrea Jones.

Fans attending Sunday's Packers-Redskins game donated $13,523 and approximately 14,400 non-perishable food items for the Packers Women's Association's 21st Annual Food Drive for Paul's Pantry, a supplementary food distribution program for the needy in the greater Green Bay area.

Overall, in 21 years of conducting the food drive, the PWA has collected approximately 580,800 non-perishable food items and more than $203,500 for Paul's Pantry.

Festival Foods is teaming with the PWA, and through Tuesday, Oct. 16, Green Bay and De Pere Festival Foods locations will have bins in their stores to collect food for the cause. Festival Foods will be sending donations to Paul's Pantry.

Army Specialist Doug Frisque And Family To Be Recognized Sunday For 'Operation Fan Mail'

Army Specialist Doug Frisque and his family are guests of the Packers and Festival Foods at today's game vs. the Washington Redskins for 'Operation Fan Mail.'

Frisque, a resident of Green Bay, most recently was stationed at Camp Striker in Iraq, where he transported supplies to various bases. He currently is home on 15 days of leave and is scheduled to return to Iraq Oct. 18. His tour is projected to end in February 2008.

He joined the Army reserves in July 2002 and later graduated with honors from A.I.T (Advanced Individual Training) at Fort Lee, Va. After completing A.I.T, Frisque joined the 753rd QM Company out of Green Bay and later was deployed to Iraq in January 2007 with the 192nd QM Company from Milan, Ohio.

Jim Meckstroth, of Cuba City High School, has been named Green Bay Packers Coach of the Week, the organization announced Thursday.

"It's a great honor," Meckstroth said. "I've been coaching for 30 years and just keep plugging away. It's very exciting. I don't know what to say."

The Packers Women's Association is teaming up with Festival Foods for the 21st Annual Food Drive for Paul's Pantry prior to Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins at Lambeau Field. This year's effort is headed by co-chairwomen Dr. Kaye Cole and Laura Hawk.

Marine Staff Sgt. Joshua Krueger and his family are guests of the Packers and Festival Foods at Sunday's game vs. the Chicago Bears for 'Operation Fan Mail.'

Krueger, a resident of Milwaukee, previously was deployed with the II Marine Expeditionary Force out of Camp Lejeune, N.C., to Fallujah, Iraq, where he successfully led a highly trained team in protecting the Commanding General of the Marine Corps in Iraq.

He is the recipient of the Combat Action Ribbon, Humanitarian Aid Medal, National Defense Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraqi Liberation Medal and the Purple Heart for extensive wounds received in combat action on Feb. 27, 2005, when his Humvee was hit by an IED in Iraq. He subsequently retired from the Marine Corps due to his injuries and returned home to Wisconsin to be with his family, which includes 2-year-old twin daughters.

Recently the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, Inc., received a major donation from the family of longtime Packers Board of Directors member Frank M. Cowles.

The donation included 76 items, many of which are very unique artifacts which significantly enhance the value and variety of the Hall of Fame archives. Some of the more prominent items included in the Cowles donation are now on display in the Packers Hall of Fame at Lambeau Field.

Items on display include a set of 1966 World Championship jeweled cuff links with a presentation note card from Bart Starr to Frank Cowles. Also featured in the Cowles exhibit is a handwritten letter to Cowles from Vince Lombardi and several Waterford crystal mementos presented to Cowles by the Packers.

The Green Bay Packers signed tight end James Adkisson to the practice squad Wednesday. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, made the announcement.

A second-year player from South Carolina, Adkisson played in two games for the Oakland Raiders in 2006. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound tight end spent the 2005 season on the Raiders' practice squad before he was signed to the active roster for the final regular season game.

Lambeau Field's G-Force will add a new element Sunday night as the division rival Bears will be welcomed to an energized crowd donning white G-Force T-shirts distributed at the gates.

G-Force is a new program that recognizes Packers fans for their longtime support and loyalty, and emphasizes the electric gameday atmosphere the fans provide for the players.

More than 72,000 shirts, each with the G-Force logo on the front and the phrase "fan flurry" on the back, will be distributed to each person coming through the gates. White pompoms will be distributed as well. The combined effect of the two items should ensure the crowd will be in a white frenzy.

Fans also are encouraged to wear their own white apparel as well to enhance the effect.

The annual search is on for a new Packers FAN Hall of Fame honoree.

The first professional football team to have its own hall of fame, the Green Bay Packers enhanced that distinction in 1998 by establishing a Packers FAN Hall of Fame. It was founded, in conjunction with the Packers Hall of Fame, for the purpose of annually honoring a devout and longtime Packers fan.

As has been the case each of the past nine years, nominees are being sought for recognition by a selection committee. The late Mel Knoke of Appleton was chosen as the inaugural enshrinee in the FAN Hall of Fame. The 91-year-old Knoke, who died between the time of his election and enshrinement, was honored posthumously at the 1999 Packers Hall of Fame Induction Banquet.

Two years after he co-founded the Packers with Curly Lambeau, George Calhoun began writing a piece called The Dope Sheet, which served as the official press release and game program from 1921-24.

Honoring Calhoun, the first publicity director, the Packers are running this weekly feature as their release, which is being made available to fans exclusively on Packers.com.

A complete edition of the Dope Sheet will be available each week during the season in PDF format, located in the Packers.com Game Centers.

Packers QB Brett Favre is a finalist for FedEx Air Player of the Week honors, the NFL announced Tuesday.

Favre completed 32 of 45 passes for 344 yards and recorded two touchdowns in the Packers' 23 - 16 win over the Minnesota Vikings. Favre's first-quarter touchdown was his 421st which set the all-time mark for touchdown passes.

Fans can vote for one player in each category on NFL.com from 9am EST on Tuesday through 5pm EST on Thursday to determine the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week. The winners will be announced Thursday evening on NFL.com.

Fans will be voting for more than their favorite player. For the fourth season in a row, the weekly FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week Awards are a win for the local community. OK, I'll start with the injuries of significance. Nick Collins had a knee bruise. I look for him to be limited on Wednesday. Al Harris, his back, he'll probably not practice Wednesday and maybe not even Thursday, as we're into his diagnosis so far this week. Charles Woodson, left foot, probably won't go Wednesday. Brandon Jackson, he still has the shin strain. He'll be questionable for Wednesday. And Vernand Morency's knee is a little sore, so he'll probably be limited on Wednesday. For his performance vs. the Minnesota Vikings, quarterback Brett Favre was chosen as the Packers 'Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week.' The exhibit contains memorabilia from the victory over the Vikings, including a game ball autographed by Favre.

The Hall of Fame's new weekly exhibit, 'The Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week,' contains memorabilia from each week's game, including a game ball autographed by a featured player of the week.

Each Monday (or in the case of a Monday night game, Tuesday), new items from the previous day's game will be placed in the display to be viewed by visitors to the Hall. Included among the items will be the autographed game ball, which at the end of the week will be awarded randomly to a Hall of Fame visitor who signed up for the free raffle drawing.

Also in the exhibit will be the featured player's game jersey, as well as potentially other items such as a face mask, shoes, gloves and other equipment.

The Green Bay Packers currently are accepting nominations for the Community Quarterback Award and the Jr. Community Quarterback Award.

Funded by the Green Bay Packers and NFL Charities, the Community Quarterback Award and the Jr. Community Quarterback Award recognize outstanding volunteers within the state of Wisconsin. Non-profit (501(c)(3) or 509) organizations are invited to nominate outstanding volunteers who demonstrate leadership, dedication and a commitment to bettering their communities through volunteerism.

The Community Quarterback Award is for volunteers who are 21 or older and not compensated for their services. Ten nominees will be selected and each will receive a $2,000 grant in the name of the non-profit organization from the Green Bay Packers.
