Mike McCarthy Press Conference Transcript - Oct. 31

(Is it a big advantage for Kansas City coming off the bye while you're on a short week?)
It depends on how you want to look at it. I do not get caught up in that. It's an advantage sometimes to keep playing when you're playing good. That's the way I view it. One thing about bye weeks, there's also a theory that you may have regrets because you haven't played for so long. We could make an argument just coming off our bye week there were some things fundamentally we could have done a better job of. You can go back and forth on that. I'll just say this, we won a big game on Monday night, and our guys will be excited and prepared to play Sunday. That's the way I view it. Everybody gets a bye week, when it comes, it changes every year, but I don't think we're at a competitive disadvantage.

(How did you change things logistically in preparing for this short week?)
I don't want to say we changed. As a staff we had the extra time preparing for D..

For his performance vs. the Denver Broncos, quarterback Brett Favre was chosen as the Packers 'Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week.' The exhibit contains memorabilia from the victory over the Broncos, including a game ball autographed by Favre.

The Hall of Fame's new weekly exhibit, 'The Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week,' contains memorabilia from each week's game, including a game ball autographed by a featured player of the week.

Each Monday (or in the case of a Monday night game, Tuesday), new items from the previous day's game will be placed in the display to be viewed by visitors to the Hall. Included among the items will be the autographed game ball, which at the end of the week will be awarded randomly to a Hall of Fame visitor who signed up for the free raffle drawing.

The winners of game balls thus far have been Ernie Keppin Jr., Churton, Md. (Week 1, Mason Crosby), Ann Hammar, Ishpeming, Mich. (Week 2, Brett Favre), Linda Hall, Milwau..

Mike McCarthy Press Conference Transcript - Oct. 30

OK, I'll start with the injuries. Scott Wells, he'll probably be limited this week in practice. He's still sick with the illness. Koren Robinson, I'll probably limit him this week because of his knee, and DeShawn Wynn we placed on IR with a significant shoulder injury.

(What does that mean, significant shoulder injury?)
Significant enough where we didn't think he could make it back in time for this season. They compared it probably worse than Tony Moll's injury, and we all know how much time he missed.

(But that's a nerve-type thing, not an AC joint?)
Yes.

(Did Grant give you anything different than the others or was it just the all-around performance?)
I think with the whole performance, starting with Ryan Grant ... I thought Ryan Grant made very good decisions. I thought his course work was very good. There's a couple things we need to clean up in his draw footwork and things like that, but he hasn'..
GREEN BAY HEADS TO K.C. AFTER THRILLING VICTORY
-After a dramatic overtime victory in Denver on the highest-rated Monday Night Football broadcast of the season, Green Bay stays on the road for another AFC West opponent: Kansas City.

Packers Activate WR Robinson; Place RB Wynn On Injured Reserve

The Green Bay Packers have activated wide receiver Koren Robinson and placed running back DeShawn Wynn on injured reserve. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, made the announcement Tuesday.

Robinson, a seventh-year pro from North Carolina State, was officially reinstated by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Oct. 18 and has been practicing under a league roster exemption since Oct. 22. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound player saw action in four games with the Packers last season as a kick returner and reserve receiver. Robinson will wear No. 81.

Wynn, a 5-foot-10, 232-pound rookie from Florida, started four games at running back for the Packers this season and saw action in all seven games. He rushed for 203 yards and four touchdowns on 50 carries.

Mike McCarthy Post-Game Press Conference Transcript - Oct. 29

Okay, I'll start with the injuries. DeShawn Wynn had a shoulder. Ryan Pickett had a bruised knee. He did return. He did not return. With that I'll take your questions.

(Did Brett audible in OT or was that the play call?)
That was the play call.

(Why did you call it?)
Anytime you're going for a vertical route, you're going for broke. It was very similar to the play that we scored on earlier in the game. We were actually sliding Donald Lee on the line to attack the middle of the field. They gave us a three-deep. It's much better play to go to Donald on a two-deep but they gave us three-deep and Brett went to the individual cut on the go route. Excellent read by Brett, excellent throw and excellent catch. Greg did a great job by finishing it.

(Were they playing a lot of three-deep?)
They played more two-deep on second down there. We had run the ball a bunch out of a sub defense. To get the three-shell c..

Packers-Broncos Press Box Notes

-Green Bay comes off the bye week with a primetime contest against the Denver Broncos tonight.

-The Packers have never won in Denver, a streak that extends beyond their 0-5 regular-season record. They also are 0-5 in preseason play in the Mile High city, including a 1946 loss to the Washington Redskins. The team makes its first-ever appearance at INVESCO Field.

-Green Bay comes into tonight's contest winners of nine of its last 10 games, including four straight road victories.

-Winners of their last three games against AFC West teams, the Packers have won six of their last eight against the division, dating back to a 1996 victory over Denver.

-For the 15th straight season (1993-2007), the Packers make an apperarance on Monday Night Football. In the NFL, only tonight's opponent, Denver (16, 1992-2007), has a longer streak.

-This marks the third game in the series played on Monday Night Football. Denver has won the two previous meeting..

(What's going on with Wells?)
Wells missed practice today. He has a sinus infection and we sent him home. But we anticipate that he'll be ready to go Monday.

(So he'll make the start there?)
We anticipate that, yes.

(How's Coston?)
He's in the rehab. He's still in the rehab program for his ankle.

(Does it look like Spitz is going to start?)
He's taken all the reps, but we've got a lot of time and we'll talk about him Monday. But if we played today, Spitz would be the starting guard, yes.

(Are you looking at some alternatives there at right guard other than Spitz?)
No. Jason is ready to go, and with Scott being sick we kind of rolled a couple of those guys through there. Allen Barbre has gotten a big dose of reps. Just all the different combinations that you have to prepare for. But nothing out of the norm.

(What happened to Harrell?)
Justin had an ankle sprain in Tuesday's practice. He had an offensive lineman roll up on the back of his legs. He may be a couple weeks.

(How did Montgomery look?)
Looks good. He looks to be strong. He's going through a little bit of what Koren Robinson's going through, getting used to his pads and things like that. I think he looks good.

(What does he bring to that group?)
Mike's a good football player. He can play both end positions for us. He's unique in that he's got a big-body type. He's a good match-up for us on special teams. He's a young player that's really turning the corner. He just had some unfortunate injuries here the last two years.

(Can you assess the defensive line's performance through six games?)
I think it's probably our most productive position to this point. They give us consistency. They do an excellent job of staying square in the..

Packers Coach Of The Week: John Nowak, Notre Dame Academy

John Nowak, of Notre Dame High School, has been named Green Bay Packers Coach of the Week, the organization announced Wednesday.

"It's a great honor for our program to be recognized by the Green Bay Packers and the NFL," said Nowak, who also won the award in 1998. "I look at this as a team award. The coaching staff and all the kids truly deserve it. I'd like to thank the Green Bay Packers for the recognition they've given my football program at Notre Dame Academy."

The Tritons advanced to the second round of the WIAA Division 3 playoffs yesterday with an upset victory over top-seeded West De Pere, 34-27, in which Notre Dame scored 20 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.

"The way we won the game last night, scoring 20 points in the fourth quarter, we've developed that never give up attitude," Nowak said.

That never give up attitude has been tested this season since Notre Dame has been fighting an uphill battle all year. The Tritons lost the firs..

(Do you have a pecking order for the running backs yet?)
We're going to work through that. DeShawn Wynn did not practice today. He had a neck spasm. Ryan Grant has gotten more work than he has in the past, and Brandon Jackson is back in the fold. And Vernand is kind of limited. So we're working through that.

(Do you still think Brett can make the deep throws?)
Absolutely. He had a big-time throw just yesterday in practice, a 55, 60-yard throw. He has plenty of arm strength left.

(Against Denver, can you get something going with the running game, considering they're better against the pass than the run?)
They haven't statistically played real well against the run, but they've changed some things on their defense through their bye week. They had a bye week before Pittsburgh. There's some things just from a basic schematic standpoint they have changed, and we're fortunate to have the long week to prepare for that..

Packers Statements On The Death Of Packers Hall Of Famer Max McGee

Packers Chairman Bob Harlan:
"On behalf of the Green Bay Packers, we send our sincere condolences to the family of Max McGee.

"Max was a great part of our Packers tradition, both as a player and as part of the broadcast team on the Packers Radio Network.

"He had tremendous loyalty to the franchise, and will be sorely missed."

Packers Team Historian Lee Remmel:
"Max McGee may have left us, but he will always own a unique niche in Packers history.

"The possessor of impeccable timing and a flair for center stage, he scored the very first touchdown in the first Super Bowl, an accomplishment of which he was justly proud."

(How did Koren look today?)
Koren had a good practice. He's in good shape. He seems to have excellent recall. We only worked on first down today, run and play-action. So the volume of what we put in wasn't very high, but he had a good day.

(Can a guy go that long without being hit and be able to suit up and play right away?)
That's what we'll find out. I really don't want to make any quick decisions. I really want to watch him go through the week of practice. Actually I just talked to him after practice. Everybody is excited he's back. I'm more excited for what he's accomplished and the track that he's on for his personal and professional life as he moves forward. But I'm just going to watch him every day, and we'll make an educated decision at the end of the week.

(What do you base it on? What do you look for?)

The Green Bay Packers signed tight end Ryan Krause from the practice squad and signed tackle Orrin Thompson and safety Tristan Burge to the practice squad. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, made the announcement Monday.

Krause, a fourth-year player from Nebraska-Omaha, spent three seasons with San Diego. The 6-foot-3, 244-pound player was a sixth round draft pick of the Chargers in 2004 and has played in five career games.

Released from the practice squad was wide receiver Onrea Jones.

Packers.com Now Features In-Depth Stats From Elias Sports Bureau

Since its debut in July 1997, Packers.com has been a great resource for Packers fans for everything about their favorite team, including stories about players, information about team events and statistics.

Now, through a new partnership with the Elias Sports Bureau, the official statisticians of the National Football League, even more stats are available on Packers.com through a simple mouse click at www.packers.com/team/stats.

Chief among the new statistics are individual player stats dating back to 1932. Visitors to the site can select a particular year to view year-end statistics and then can view a player's career stats as a member of the Packers by clicking on a specific player's name.

The new feature also displays a "Stat of the Week," which each week reveals an interesting statistical nugget about the team. For instance, this week's "Stat of the Week" states: Charle..

Charles Raykovich, head coach at Chippewa Falls High School, has been named Green Bay Packers Coach of the Week, the organization announced Thursday.

"This is a great honor that has been bestowed upon us," Raykovich said. "I have nothing but the highest praise for our assistant coaches here at Chippewa Falls High School, and it goes through to the middle school and the youth program. We work our kids hard, expect a lot out of them, and their parents back us. I'm extremely proud of the town of Chippewa Falls."
Cornerback CHARLES WOODSON of the Green Bay Packers, rookie running back ADRIAN PETERSON of the Minnesota Vikings, and wide receiver-punt returner-kick returner DEVIN HESTER of the Chicago Bears are the NFC Defensive, Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played the sixth week of the 2007 season (October 14-15), the NFL announced Wednesday.
* In Green Bay's 17-14 win over Washington, Woodson had four tackles, an interception and two fumble recoveries, including a 57-yard touchdown return with 12:55 remaining in the fourth quarter for the game-winning points. In the second quarter, with Washington driving into Green Bay territory, Woodson thwarted a drive with an interception to preserve a 7-7 tie. With the Packers trailing 14-10 in the third quarter, Woodson recovered a fumble and returned it 57 yards to put Green Bay ahead for good at 17-14.
Statement From Packers General Manager Ted Thompson Regarding Koren Robinson

"The league has informed us that Koren Robinson has been reinstated, effective Thursday, October 18, 2007. We understand and appreciate the Commissioner's consideration in this matter.

It's been a year since we've seen Koren, so our first step is to have him return to Green Bay. The Packers will request a roster exemption, during which time we would see where Koren is at in terms of football shape.

We are aware how difficult this past year has been for Koren, but the Packers are grateful for the progress he's made, as evidenced by this reinstatement."

Two years after he co-founded the Packers with Curly Lambeau, George Calhoun began writing a piece called The Dope Sheet, which served as the official press release and game program from 1921-24.

Honoring Calhoun, the first publicity director, the Packers are running this weekly feature as their release, which is being made available to fans exclusively on Packers.com.

A complete edition of the Dope Sheet will be available each week during the season in PDF format, located in the Packers.com Game Centers.

Here are some highlights from the Packers Bye Week Dope Sheet:

PACKERS 5-1 HEADING INTO BYE WEEK
-Green Bay heads into its bye week at 5-1, its best mark since 2002.

-Many of the Packers' key players have been playing through injuries thus far, meaning the extra time off will be important as the team heads into the final portion of the 2007 schedule.

(How is Bubba Franks' knee?)
Bubba's knee ... I just spoke to Pat briefly in the training room. He wants to do some more tests, but it looks like he has a knee sprain. He may be a couple weeks. I don't have an exact diagnosis for you right now.

(Does that mean you'll have to pick up a tight end?)
Well, we have Mr. Krause. He's been with us on our practice squad and he's done a nice job. So he's definitely someone we would look to if we have to go in that direction.

(Any other injuries from the game?)
Frank Walker has a knee, they're just going to send him over and have him scanned. I'll know more about him probably later this afternoon. Brett had an ankle, he's fine. I just saw him briefly in the training room. Juice Coston has the ankle. Will Blackmon, I'm just trying to think of the guys ... Cullen Jenkins, they're looking at him. He got hurt on that one high-low situation, so he's getting scanned, but I thi..

Cullen Jenkins had a knee. He did return. Vernand Morency had ribs. He also returned. Bubba Franks had a knee injury. He did not return. And DeShawn Wynn had a hand injury. He did return. With that I'll take your questions.

(How do you feel about your team?)
I'm glad to be 5-1. I thought it was a good victory today against a very good football team. We felt all week that this was the best football team that we've played to date, as far as film study goes. We knew this was going to be a big challenge. I thought our defense was outstanding. I thought they were the key to the victory today, particularly down the stretch. I thought they got stronger and stronger as the game went on. Their offense was productive early on normal down-and-distance. I thought our defense responded well to that. Offense, I didn't think we weren't very sharp. We weren't in rhythm at all today. We started strong on the first two drives. On the one drive we didn't convert on third dow..

Packers-Redskins Press Box Notes

PACKERS-REDSKINS HIGHLIGHT WEEK 6 NFC SCHEDULE
-Two of the surprise teams in the NFC thus far - the 4-1 Packers and 3-1 Redskins - square off at historic Lambeau Field this afternoon. It marks the 249th consecutive regular-season sellout (263 including playoffs) at the NFL's longest-tenured stadium.

-The Packers saw their eight-game winning streak come to an end last Sunday night against Chicago in a 27-20 loss, while Washington comes off a 34-3 victory over Detroit.

-Green Bay achieved a 4-0 start for the ninth time in team history and the first time since 1998. Seven of those Packers teams went on to win an NFL championship (1929, '30, '31, '44, '62, '65, and 1966).

-Luckily for the Packers, former GM Ron Wolf was not discouraged by Brett Favre's first career appearance against Washington. Favre got his most extensive playing time as a 1991 rookie with the Falcons, at RFK Stadium, going 0-for-4 with two INTs in a 56-17 loss to the Redskin..
Juice turned his ankle, has an ankle sprain, in our goal-line work yesterday at the end of practice.

(Is it the same one he hurt before?)
I think it's the other one actually. I want to say it's his left ankle.

(Did it turn out to be worse than you thought?)
I thought he may be able to go today. They feel the extra day of treatment would help him. We may work him out as early as tomorrow, or prior to the game. He'll be a gameday decision.

(What's the plan if he can't go?)
Tony Moll worked at right guard today, (that) would be the starting point.

(Did you practice inside all week this week?)
Correct.

(What is your thinking there?)
Wednesday and Thursday I went inside because of the wind, based on the weather report I'm given every morning, and then I get another one about 9:30. We went inside ..

Packers Coach Of The Week: Jim Meckstroth, Cuba City High School

Jim Meckstroth, of Cuba City High School, has been named Green Bay Packers Coach of the Week, the organization announced Thursday.

"It's a great honor," Meckstroth said. "I've been coaching for 30 years and just keep plugging away. It's very exciting. I don't know what to say."

The Cubans improved to 6-1, a perfect 5-0 in South Wisconsin Activities play, following the team's 27-9 victory over second-ranked and previously unbeaten Fennimore (6-1, 4-1) last Friday.

"We're 6-1 and we just beat a team that's expected to go to state and has dominated our conference the last couple of years," Meckstroth said.

The victory over the Golden Eagles puts Cuba City in control of the division race. A Cuban win in either of their last two games or a Fennimore loss in either of its two remaining games would clinch the division title for Cuba City. The Cubans could lock up the title tomorrow night when they travel to Iowa-Grant (3-4, 2-3) for a showdown with the P..

(Did you say anything to Jones to help put that game behind him?)
We moved on. I think it was very important, particularly with the skilled players. We've been very good with yards after the catch. Our guys have been very good with the ball in their hands. We need to continue to do so. We just need to do a better job of protecting the football.

(Does that affect you calling any plays for him?)
No, we're fine. We've moved on.

(The fact that he's a good hands catcher, catching the ball out in front, impact that?)
Both of his were on very tight plays. I think Tillman made a good play on the ball both times. Still, anytime you carry the ball around your waist you're asking for trouble. You have to catch it, bring it to your body and secure it high and tight. It's something we practice all the time and it can happen as fast as it did to him in the game. He has very good hands for a young guy. As good as anyone I'v..

Mike McCarthy Press Conference Transcript - Oct. 8

OK, I'll start with the injuries. We have a number of guys that are banged up, but the one injury of significance - Scott Wells has a fractured eye orbit, and he most likely won't be able to go this week. He'll probably be ready after the bye. So with that I'll take your questions.

(What's Jennings' status?)
Jennings had a shoulder sprain. I think he's going to be fine. I'll probably take caution with his hamstring a lot like I did last week. That's something I'll decide Wednesday once have our Wednesday morning doctor evaluation. But his shoulder, his sprain, he feels pretty good.

(Is Spitz the guy you want at center then?)
We'll probably go that direction, yes.

(It's been 10 months since you talked to the team about a loss. How are things different this week?)
Really, I don't think it will be much different. I stood here last week and we won a football game. We had a number of positive things that h..

For his performance vs. the Chicago Bears, running back DeShawn Wynn was chosen as the Packers 'Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week.' The exhibit contains memorabilia from the game against the Bears, including a game ball autographed by Wynn.

Mike McCarthy Post-Game Press Conference Transcript - Oct. 7

I will start with the injuries. DeShawn Wynn had cramps. He had an IV and returned in the second half. Greg Jennings had a shoulder. He returned in the second half following negative x-rays. Scott Wells got poked in the eye. He did not return. With that I'll take your questions.

(What happened with the ball security today? Will you revisit it this week?)
We revisit it every day. We revisit it every day in practice. We revisit it every day in OTAs, training camp. It's very important when you set particular objectives in a football game as part of your game plan that you go out and execute them. We had a number of turnovers that game that took points off the board. We were in a great rhythm early. Like I said, it took points off the board. You cannot turn the football over and win in this league. Its evident week in and week out and that's the game we played tonight.

(What did you say to Jones on the sideline?)
Don't turn the ball..

Packers-Bears Press Box Notes

PACKERS vs. BEARS - THE RIVALRY CONTINUES
-The NFL's most storied rivalry enjoys its 174th installment Sunday night at historic Lambeau Field. It is the 248th consecutive regular-season sellout (262 including playoffs) at the league's longest-tenured stadium. Chicago has won the last three meetings at Lambeau Field.

-The Packers enter the contest at 4-0, their best start since 1998, while the Bears come into the game at 1-3.

-Only defending Super Bowl champion Indianapolis (nine) enters play this weekend with a longer winning streak than Green Bay (eight).

-Green Bay has gotten off to a 4-0 start for the ninth time in team history. Seven of those Packers teams went on to win an NFL championship (1929, '30, '31, '44, '62, '65, and 1966). The Packers look to improve to 5-0 for the first time sice 1965.

-Packers team historian Lee Remmel will be in attendance for the 121st consecutive game (123rd overall) between the Packers and Bears. ..

Marine Staff Sgt. Joshua Krueger and his family are guests of the Packers and Festival Foods at Sunday's game vs. the Chicago Bears for 'Operation Fan Mail.'

Krueger, a resident of Milwaukee, previously was deployed with the II Marine Expeditionary Force out of Camp Lejeune, N.C., to Fallujah, Iraq, where he successfully led a highly trained team in protecting the Commanding General of the Marine Corps in Iraq.

He is the recipient of the Combat Action Ribbon, Humanitarian Aid Medal, National Defense Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraqi Liberation Medal and the Purple Heart for extensive wounds received in combat action on Feb. 27, 2005, when his Humvee was hit by an IED in Iraq. He subsequently retired from the Marine Corps due to his injuries and returned home to Wisconsin to be with his family, which includes 2-year-old twin daughters.

(Are you going to wait until after the bye with Montgomery?)
Well, he's ahead of schedule, so we're hopeful he may be able to practice this upcoming week, Washington week. The initial plan was to wait through the bye, but he's doing very well. We'll talk about Mike on Monday.

(How is Jackson progressing? Was there an improvement from yesterday?)
Well they actually tested him today. They went through the rehab test today, and frankly I haven't received the results yet. They wanted to push him through and see where he was. I'll know more when I get back inside.

(What's your gut feeling on him Sunday?)
I'd say questionable.

(How did Al Harris do these last two days?)
Better. He's better this week than he was at this time last week. Actually he's got two good days under his belt, so I think he'll be fine.

(Do you give him better than a good shot to play?)

Packers Coach Of The Week: Dave Wineburner, Crivitz High School

Dave Wineburner, of Crivitz High School, has been named Green Bay Packers Coach of the Week, the organization announced Thursday.

"I would not be able to accomplish any of this without the support of my parents, my wife Carrie and my daughter Emma," Wineburner said. "They understand the long hours and commitment that must be made to be successful in this sport. I even get my daughter to break down tape with me. 'Just win' is her four-year-old answer to everything. Thank you for your love and understanding."

'Just win' is exactly what Crivitz has done. Wineburner has the Wolverines undefeated after six games, including a perfect 4-0 mark in the Marinette-Oconto conference, following a 42-6 victory at Peshtigo last Friday.

"This award is a testament of the hard work and dedication of the players and coaches involved with the Wolverine football team," Wineburner said. "I am truly honored to receive this recognition on behalf of them."
"We're really looking forward to hosting the holiday party again this year," said Dennis Fenrick, Packers manager of Atrium operations. "We had a great turnout last year, with many businesses taking advantage of the venue for their parties. They left the planning to us and enjoyed the evening with their groups. We had several groups of individuals, too.

Recently the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, Inc., received a major donation from the family of longtime Packers Board of Directors member Frank M. Cowles.

The donation included 76 items, many of which are very unique artifacts which significantly enhance the value and variety of the Hall of Fame archives. Some of the more prominent items included in the Cowles donation are now on display in the Packers Hall of Fame at Lambeau Field.

Items on display include a set of 1966 World Championship jeweled cuff links with a presentation note card from Bart Starr to Frank Cowles. Also featured in the Cowles exhibit is a handwritten letter to Cowles from Vince Lombardi and several Waterford crystal mementos presented to Cowles by the Packers.

F. Murphy Cowles, son of Frank M. Cowles, said that the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, "is where my father would have wanted these items to reside. They represent a lifetime association with the team."

Mike McCarthy Press Conference Transcript - Oct. 3

(With getting off to a fast start, what's been the difference between this year and last year?)
The confidence of our football team was much higher than last year coming out of training camp. Second, we won the close games. At this time last year we lost two tough games at home against the Saints and Rams. Those are probably two of the bigger factors.

(Did your decision in training camp to ease up on the players make a difference?)
I don't think I eased up on them. You guys keep trying to make our training camp out to be soft. I thought we were smart with our time management. Every decision that we make is in the best interest of our football team, particularly health. Injuries are a part of it. Anything you can do from a scheduling standpoint to eliminate those types of injuries, particularly the fatigue injuries, then you do. That's what we did with training camp. I think it helped. It may have helped more mentally for the players get..

Lambeau Field G-Force 'Fan Flurry' Set To Welcome Bears Sunday Night

T-SHIRTS AND POMPOMS TO BE DISTRIBUTED

Lambeau Field's G-Force will add a new element Sunday night as the division rival Bears will be welcomed to an energized crowd donning white G-Force T-shirts distributed at the gates.

G-Force is a new program that recognizes Packers fans for their longtime support and loyalty, and emphasizes the electric gameday atmosphere the fans provide for the players.

More than 72,000 shirts, each with the G-Force logo on the front and the phrase "fan flurry" on the back, will be distributed to each person coming through the gates. White pompoms will be distributed as well. The combined effect of the two items should ensure the crowd will be in a white frenzy.

Fans also are encouraged to wear their own white apparel as well to enhance the effect.

"Our fans are simply the best, so the G-Force 'Fan Flurry' T-shirts and pompoms should be an opportunity for everyone to have some fun with it and really energize..

10th Packers FAN Hall Of Fame Honoree Sought

<a href="http://www.jsonline.com/packersfan"target="new">Click here to nominate someone!

**

The annual search is on for a new Packers FAN Hall of Fame honoree.

The first professional football team to have its own hall of fame, the Green Bay Packers enhanced that distinction in 1998 by establishing a Packers FAN Hall of Fame. It was founded, in conjunction with the Packers Hall of Fame, for the purpose of annually honoring a devout and longtime Packers fan.

As has been the case each of the past nine years, nominees are being sought for recognition by a selection committee. The late Mel Knoke of Appleton was chosen as the inaugural enshrinee in the FAN Hall of Fame. The 91-year-old Knoke, who died between the time of his election and enshrinement, was honored posthumously at the 1999 Packers Hall of Fame Induction Banquet.

In addition to Knoke, past honorees include: (2000) Louis Gardipee, Black River Falls, Wis.; (2001) Ed Jablonski, Wa..

Here are some highlights from the Packers-Bears Week 5 Dope Sheet:

PACKERS vs. BEARS - THE RIVALRY CONTINUES
-The NFL's most storied rivalry enjoys its 174th installment Sunday night at historic Lambeau Field. It is the 248th consecutive sellout at the league's longest-tenured stadium.

-The Packers enter the contest at 4-0, their best start since 1998, while the Bears come into the ..

Mike McCarthy Press Conference Transcript - Oct. 1

OK, I'll start with the injuries of significance. Nick Collins had a knee bruise. I look for him to be limited on Wednesday. Al Harris, his back, he'll probably not practice Wednesday and maybe not even Thursday, as we're into his diagnosis so far this week. Charles Woodson, left foot, probably won't go Wednesday. Brandon Jackson, he still has the shin strain. He'll be questionable for Wednesday. And Vernand Morency's knee is a little sore, so he'll probably be limited on Wednesday. With that I'll take your questions.

(Did all the attention on Favre and the record ever become a distraction?)
I don't think it was a distraction at all. I think just by the comments made by the players and the reaction of everybody involved, it was a very good illustration of it. We didn't see it as a distraction. I think the way he handled it and the humility he showed and the focus he kept putting on the team was clearly evident in how everybody viewed that day. It was great..
