(How much did the day off benefit Koren?)
It did benefit him. He felt good today, and he had a quality work day. We'll probably see how he responds as we move forward. But that was the schedule we wanted to go into the first week, based off of how his knee felt after five practices.

(Do you feel better about Wells after seeing him practice?)
I feel a lot better. He practiced again today, and he feels much better today. Hopefully he's got the illness behind him.

(Are you going to start Wells?)
I'll wait until Sunday to talk about that. But the way we worked the reps, we worked, if we played today Jason would start.

(And Moll at right guard?)
Same way we did last week.

(Will you wait until Sunday on Robinson?)
Correct, yes. Really tomorrow will be a big indicator.

(Can you rotate centers or is that dangerous?)
I don't know if you really want to rotate your center, especially within a series. I've never done it. I'm not planning to do it.

(When you drafted Tony Gonzalez in Kansas City, what jumped out about him that first year?)
Tony is a great athlete. He's probably even a harder worker. I was there I think for his first two years in the league. You could just tell right away that he was something special. If I remember correctly, he was a junior coming out, too. I think he was only 20, 21 years old when he arrived in Kansas City. Great competitor, great athlete. Could play any of the tight end positions, and I know he's been displaced a bunch in formations. The thing I always liked about Tony was in the red zone, the way he competed and went up for the football. Great tight end, great player.

(With your success on the road, players have talked about having less tension and more downtime. Is it paying dividends to keep them more relaxed?)
Are you talking about the schedule? When I put together the schedule, I thought it was very important to try to create the same, or as close as possible, of progression of things you do during the course of the week both home and away. And if you notice our schedule, it's exactly the same home and away, where basically our workload is done at noon on Saturday. As an assistant coach and coordinator, I never really liked the fact that you had something hanging over you one more time Saturday night before a game. Because I always felt it was kind of a last-minute approach, or let's hurry up and do this one more time. And I just felt from a time-management standpoint that you should be able to get all your work done by Saturday at noon. That's really the whole genesis, starting point, of why we do it the way we do it. When we play at home, they're done at noon and we have a Saturday night meeting, and when we're on the road, it's the same way. We're done by noon and we travel and we have a Saturday night meeting. It just gives them that period of time, now we obviously have to travel, and we get to the opposing city a little earlier than they have in the past. Because I think it is important for your players to go have dinner together, to have that down time. They don't have the distractions on the road that they may have at home. That was all part of the thought process of the away schedule.

(But you've never been with a coach who did it that way on the road?)
No, not really. We always worked Saturday night, yes.

(How's Ryan Krause progressing?)
I think he's done well in practice. He didn't have his best day today. But I'm happy with what I've seen. I think he's very natural as far as displaced formations and the route-running, doing a lot better job in the blocking. He's made a great effort there. I think he's a young, improving player. I'm glad we have him.

(Kampman's sack on Marshall, was that one of the more impressive never-give-up efforts you've seen?)
I think that's the way Aaron is. Excellent play. I think it's an excellent illustration of Aaron Kampman.
