Aaron Rodgers Named Packers Hall of Fame's Featured Player Of The Week

For his performance vs. the Dallas Cowboys, quarterback Aaron Rodgers was chosen as the 'Packers Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week.' The exhibit contains memorabilia from the game against the Cowboys, including a game ball autographed by Rodgers.

Rodgers completed 18 of 26 passes for 201 yards and one touchdown without an interception for a 104.8 passer rating in relief of Brett Favre. For the third-year pro Rodgers, it was an impressive outing and by far the best for the former first-round draft pick, whose regular-season action has been very infrequent as Favre's backup.

The Hall of Fame's weekly exhibit, 'The Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week,' contains memorabilia from each week's game, including a game ball autographed by a featured player of the week.

OK, I'll start off with the injuries, the one true injury from the football game involving Brett Favre. He's been diagnosed with an elbow bruise. It's different than the injury he had last year against New England. It has more to do with the muscle, the belly of the muscle around the elbow. It's not as severe as last year, and he aggravated an old shoulder injury to his left shoulder. He was in for treatment today, and we see him playing next week against Oakland. With that I'll take your questions.

(Any nerve damage?)
Not that I'm aware of. I was told the injury was to the muscle. Last year it was to the nerve against New England.

(Did he get feeling back in his hand?)
It's starting to come back. Just to quote the medical staff, his streak is not in danger. He'll be OK.

(Would you consider resting him if it puts him in better shape for the long-term, like with Woodson?)

Brett Favre completed 31 of 41 passes for 381 yards including three touchdowns in the Packers' 37 - 26 win over the Detroit Lions.

Frank Gore scored two touchdowns over 116 yards and 21 carries in the 49ers' 37 - 31 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

The Green Bay Packers have signed safety Marviel Underwood and placed defensive tackle Colin Cole on injured reserve. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, made the announcement Sunday.

Underwood, originally a fourth-round pick by Green Bay in 2005, spent two seasons with the Packers. He saw action in all 16 games in 2005 and spent all of 2006 on injured reserve. He will wear No. 43.

Cole had seen action in seven games this season and collected 13 tackles before suffering an arm injury Nov. 22 at Detroit.

The Packers also announced a practice squad transaction Sunday. The team signed cornerback Joe Porter to the practice squad and released safety Tristan Burge.

Porter, a 5-foot-10, 198-pound rookie from Rutgers, played in 44 games, including 11 starts, for the Scarlet Knights. He also participated in track, where he was the 2006 BIG EAST indoor and outdoor 200-meter champion.

Well, you never think he's going to miss one. As far as the heavy pass, we went to that in the second quarter. It was really just reaction to what was there. I anticipated a little more two-shell defenses, and a different variety of some of the formation personnel groups that we were in, so we went that way just more of a reaction to how they were playing us.

Packers punt returner Tramon Williams was named Special Teams Players of the Week for games played the 11th week of the 2007 season (November 18-19), the NFL announced Wednesday.

Williams set the tone early with a 94-yard punt-return touchdown in the Packers' 31-17 victory over Carolina to help Green Bay improve to 9-1. In the first quarter of a scoreless game, the Panthers lined up for a field goal but instead executed a pooch punt. Williams fielded the bouncing ball at his own six-yard line and sprinted up the right sideline for a 94-yard touchdown to give the Packers a lead they would not relinquish. More of a walk-through. It's a travel day for us. We'll work on a Friday schedule. We'll meet in the morning. Then we'll have a walk-through in the gymnasium. Army Spc. Gregory Manning and his family will be guests of the Packers and Festival Foods at Sunday's game vs. the Carolina Panthers for 'Operation Fan Mail.'

Manning, a resident of Green Bay., is a medic for Echo Troop 105th Cavalry, a National Guard unit deployed from Antigo, Wis. His unit conducts convoy security missions in Iraq and has been there since August. The Preble High School grad originally joined the Army in March 2002.

The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, Inc., Tuesday announced the donation of a very rare autographed game ball from the 1934-35 Green Bay Packers by James Miller in the name of his mother, Mayme Toule Miller.

Mayme Toule Miller was the manager of the Astor Hotel from 1928 through 1938. The downtown Green Bay hotel, located on North Adams Street, was the "home away from home" during the season for many Packers.

Miller befriended many players during that time, including Roger Grove (back, 1931-35). Grove presented the ball Miller sometime during the 1935 season as a token of their appreciation for the fine accommodations the players received at the hotel. Grove had Curly Lambeau and all the players sign the ball.

A very good performance by our football team in all three phases. We anticipated a very physical game with Minnesota today, especially after the game at the Metrodome. I thought our guys really prepared well, starting with the defense with the shutout and stopping the run. That was the emphasis going into the game. Offensively, we wanted to establish our run game. It was a completion-oriented mindset as far as game plan against their defense. I thought the quarterback was sharp in that regard. I thought we were a little sloppy with the passing to start the game, in the first quarter. For the most part, I was very pleased with the performance in all three phases. That's clearly our best performance this year.

The Green Bay Packers and Festival Foods again will usher in the yuletide spirit with the second annual 'Festival of Lights at Lambeau Field,' Saturday, Dec. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m.

This year's event features one change: the Packers are looking for help in finding a magnificent tree. Anyone from Wisconsin or the Upper Peninsula of Michigan who has a 35-45 foot evergreen tree and wants to donate it to the event is asked to submit a proposal, in 100 words or less, on why his or her tree should be used for 'Festival of Lights' and displayed at Lambeau Field through the holiday season. Proposals should include a photo of the tree, and can be submitted through Monday, Nov. 19.

Packers-Vikings Week 10 Dope Sheet

Two years after he co-founded the Packers with Curly Lambeau, George Calhoun began writing a piece called The Dope Sheet, which served as the official press release and game program from 1921-24.

Honoring Calhoun, the first publicity director, the Packers are running this weekly feature as their release, which is being made available to fans exclusively on Packers.com.

A complete edition of the Dope Sheet will be available each week during the season in PDF format, located in the Packers.com Game Centers.

The Packers' Week 9 win over the Kansas City Chiefs -- and Brett Favre's 40th career fourth-quarter comeback victory -- will be re-aired on NFL Replay in a fast-paced 90-minute format on Tuesday, November 6 at 9:30 PM CT exclusively on NFL Network.

NFL Replay features five of the most exciting games from the weekend, re-airing on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings without halftime and other elements not critical to the outcome.

NFL Replay tells the story of the game with additional features including sound bites captured on the field during the game and post-game press conferences.

For his performance vs. the Kansas City Chiefs, wide receiver Greg Jennings was chosen as the Packers 'Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week.' The exhibit contains memorabilia from the victory over the Chiefs, including a game ball autographed by Jennings.

The Hall of Fame's weekly exhibit, 'The Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week,' contains memorabilia from each week's game, including a game ball autographed by a featured player of the week.

Each Monday (or in the case of a Monday night game, Tuesday), new items from the previous day's game will be placed in the display to be viewed by visitors to the Hall. Included among the items will be the autographed game ball, which at the end of the week will be awarded randomly to a Hall of Fame visitor who signed up for the free raffle drawing.

The Green Bay Packers, along with SecureHorizons by UnitedHealthcare, is presenting Training Camp for Seniors with Bart and Cherry Starr, Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Don Hutson Center.
