Ticket Plans Announced For Possible Super Bowl Appearance By Packers

Should the Green Bay Packers advance to Super Bowl XLII, the bulk of the ticket allotment, per usual practice, will be made available to season ticket holders, the team announced Monday.

Packers Chairman Bob Harlan reiterated the organization's longstanding policy in addressing ticket allocations in the event that the Packers would capture the National Football Conference championship and the right to meet the American Football Conference champions in the Super Bowl at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., on Sunday, Feb. 3.

"The loyalty of our season ticket holders has been outstanding, as evidenced by our season-ticket sellouts since 1960." Harlan said. "Because of that unyielding support, we are going to make sure Super Bowl tickets are available to as many of them as possible. We believe the plan we have in place is fair to all our season ticket holders."

Under the plan, each account - whether the Green package, Gold package, or club seat - ..

Mike McCarthy Press Conference Transcript - Dec. 31

OK, I'll start with the four injuries from the game. Will Blackmon had an irritation to his original foot injury. Junius Coston had a calf strain. He may be a couple weeks. Jason Spitz had a quad strain. We're going to need more information on Jason as we go through the week. And Ryan Grant had the stinger. He's fine. I just saw Ryan. He was coming out of the weight room. With that I'll take your questions.

(With Coston questionable now, do you feel good about Spitz being ready for the playoff game?)
I'm hopeful. Like I've stated, we're going to probably need the week to get more information on his quad. I don't know if he'll be able to go Friday's practice, but that's the next time we'll re-convene with the medical staff. He'll be in all week for treatment.

(How much pressure is on Colledge now?)
Daryn played better in the game, so that's obviously a good start, and he's always prepared as the starter. It's important for him to..

OK, I'll start with the injuries. Ryan Grant had a stinger. He did not return. He could have gone back in the game. Jason Spitz has a quad, did not return. Will Blackmon had a foot injury, the same foot that he's injured in the past. Junius Coston had a calf and did not return. With that I'll take your questions.

(What's the best thing you take from this win?)
Momentum. Starting the game the way you're supposed to, jumping on your opponent. They came out of the gate with a big kickoff return. I thought our defense responded holding them to three points. We responded with the three touchdowns. I liked the way we started the game. The fundamentals, I'm sure when we look at the film we'll feel a lot better about the progress we made this week getting back to the basics. That showed up today. Playing all of our younger players and the improvement that gives you with depth, there are a number of positives that came out of this game today.

PACKERS WRAP UP REGULAR SEASON WITH LIONS
-Green Bay plays its 16th and final regular-season game Sunday when it hosts the Detroit Lions in the 157th meeting of the rivalry.

-The Lions have not won in the state of Wisconsin since a 21-17 victory over the Packers at Lambeau Field in 1991, a streak that spans 16 consecutive Packers victories and seven Lions head coaches.

-For the fourth straight season, Detroit makes its annual visit to Lambeau Field in December.

-The two clubs met just over one month ago, with Green Bay earning a hard-fought 37-26 win on Thanksgiving.

-The Packers' recent dominance in the series hasn't just been limited to games played in Wisconsin. They've won 12 of the last 14 overall meetings, and Head Coach Mike McCarthy is 3-0 against the Lions.

-Sunday is the 253rd consecutive regular-season sellout (266 including playoffs) at Lambeau Field, the league's longest-tenured stadium.

Shovelers Needed Saturday Morning For Lambeau Field Snow Removal

Friday's snowfall is significant enough to require snow removal Saturday from Lambeau Field in preparation for Sunday's game.

Ted Eisenreich, Packers director of facility operations, is seeking as many as 300 shovelers to assist at Lambeau Field tomorrow, Dec. 29.

Anyone interested in lending a hand is asked to report to the Mills Fleet Farm Gate on Lambeau Field's west side, beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday and continuing throughout the day.

The Packers will provide shovels to all who come to help.
(With Woodson doubtful, is that toe-related, or did something else come up?)
He just had a lot of treatment yesterday, and it gave him an opportunity to treat his toe and the other little things that he has. He's doubtful for the game.

(Who would start in his place?)
We'll find out at noon. They'll all play. We're not changing anything that we haven't done to this point. I would like to see all the young corners play. Bush will be back, Blackmon, Tramon and Frank. You'll see all those guys.

(Will it be nice to see some of the younger guys go out and play in a regular-season game?)
There's no mistake, we're playing to win this football game, and I think it's important regardless of the 45 players you put out there from your 53, we're going to do everything it takes to win this game. With that, our younger players that are players who haven't played a whole lot to this point will play more than normal. It is an ..

Independent Retailer Demonstrates Packers Pride With Free Merchandise If Packers Win The Big Game

Wisconsin independent retailer Boston Incorporated announced Thursday that purchases made in their eight stores through New Year's Day 2008 are free if the Green Bay Packers win pro football's championship game Feb. 3, 2008.

Doing business in eight locations statewide, Boston Inc is Furniture & ApplianceMart in De Pere, Oshkosh, Plover, Rhinelander and Wausau, and Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Appleton, Green Bay and Plover. Combined, these eight locations offer furniture, bedding, electronics and appliances by leading manufacturers at price points ranging from entry level to luxury line.

Dispelling the notion that this event is 'too good to be true', Bill Fonti, president and chief executive officer of Boston Inc explained, "It's true. Purchases made this week will be free if the Packers bring the title back to Titletown on Feb. 3."

Fonti added, "Similar promotions have run with other sporting teams across the nation, but these typically include long lists..

(Will you try to get Jennings to practice tomorrow?)
We'll just see how he feels in his rehab. He's getting better. He's confident he can play, but we'll see how he feels tomorrow.

(You said it was more of a kick or bruise. Is that still the case?)
They classify it as a mild sprain. It's clearly not at the level that he suffered last year against Miami.

(Is there any real reason to play him, do you think?)
That's something you consider. We do want to have the opportunity to play one more time before we play the second round. Those are all things we talk about. But to answer the question, as far as the health, that's something I'll always caution to. I've said that all week.

(How has Jones played lately?)
James Jones? He's been solid. He hasn't had the opportunities he had earlier in the season. The ball really hasn't come his way, but I think he's improved in his blocking. He has pi..

Shovelers Needed Thursday Morning For Lambeau Field Snow Removal

The Green Bay Packers Wednesday put out the "help wanted" request to assist with snow removal Thursday from Lambeau Field.

Ted Eisenreich, the Packers' director of facility operations, is seeking recruits - as many as 300 - to shovel out Lambeau Field tomorrow, Dec. 27, in preparation for the team's regular season finale, Dec. 30, vs. the Detroit Lions.

He asks all who might be interested in lending a hand to report to the Mills Fleet Farm Gate on Lambeau Field's west side, beginning at 8 a.m. Thursday and continuing throughout the day.

The Packers will provide shovels to all who come to help.

Shovelers, who need to be at least 15 years old, will receive $8 per hour, with payment to be made immediately upon completion of their work, Eisenreich said.

This is the second such request this season. More than 300 people assisted with shoveling earlier this month, Dec. 5.

Mike McCarthy Press Conference Transcript - Dec. 26

(What factors will go into how long the starters will play?)
That's something that if you had asked me Monday, we'd play the whole game. But I think it's important for us to be smart with our football team. I want everybody to go through the week of preparation, and I want to use Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to make that decision. So I really don't have an answer for you, but I will be smart with the football team.

(With the guard situation, is there anything you can get out of this last game?)
I would just like the consistency to improve in some areas. That's what we're looking for, and another game will help those guys. It does not help with the number of times we have moved them. I'm aware of that. But it's important at that position for someone to grab a hold of it and solidify the interior of our line.

Favre Named 2007 U.S. Sports Academy Male Athlete of the Year

DAPHNE, Ala. - Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre and Belgian tennis star Justine Henin were named the 2007 United States Sports Academy Male and Female Athletes of the Year after a worldwide online vote presented by USATODAY.com and MSNBC.com.

Favre, who is having one of his best NFL seasons, has led the Packers to a 12-3 record and a first round bye in the playoffs. This season he broke Dan Marino's NFL record for career passing yards (61,405), career touchdown passes (440 and counting) and Marino's NFL record for most career passes. Favre continues to add to his NFL record 252 consecutive games played (272 counting playoffs.) The 38-year-old Favre has engineered 38 fourth-quarter rallies in his career.

Henin was named Academy Female Athlete of the Year after completing a year in which she lost only four of 67 singles matches. She won 10 tournament titles in 2007 including two majors, making the 25-year-old Belgian the first player since Martina Hingis in ..

Packers-Lions Week 17 Dope Sheet

Two years after he co-founded the Packers with Curly Lambeau, George Calhoun began writing a piece called The Dope Sheet, which served as the official press release and game program from 1921-24.
(How significant is Jennings' ankle?)
Just visiting with Pat McKenzie, he has a mild ankle sprain. I'm hopeful he'll go this week.

(Would you consider holding him out?)
Wednesday will probably answer that question for me.

(When did that happen in the game?)
I'm not sure exactly what play, but it was more of a bruise than a sprain. Pat thinks he might have just gotten kicked on the bone. He wasn't very concerned about it. I know Greg wasn't either.

(Any thoughts about your plan for playing players?)
As far as our plan for Detroit, we're going to play to win the game. We will start the football game just like we have every single week up until now. Now, how it will unfold during the course of the game, that has not been decided yet.

(How much of that is wiping the bad taste out of your mouth?)
That's part of it. I'm clearly not happy with the way we perform..

Mike McCarthy Post-Game Press Conference Transcript - Dec. 23

Okay, the one injury we had in the game - Greg Jennings left with an ankle and they're still checking him out. With that, I'll take your questions.

(on the weather conditions)
Well, I'll say this, Chicago handled it a lot better than we did. There is no doubt about that. It's no excuse. Our performance was poor today in all three phases. We did not handle the football every well. We had the ball on the ground too many times, Chicago did not. They handled the ball very well. The footing we tried to emphasize as much as we could the last couple of days. Playing with good balance, keeping your feet underneath you. I felt we were on the ground way too much today, so we didn't handle it very well.

(on the struggles)
Well, we didn't do anything very well. Our run blocking was sporadic in the beginning and was not very good in the second half. Pass protection we had some breakdowns in protection versus their pressure, and obviously y..

PACKERS-BEARS: THE NFL'S GREATEST RIVALRY
-Green Bay heads south to Chicago to face the Bears Sunday in the 175th installment of the most historic rivalry in professional football.

-The Packers come into the matchup winners of 16 of their last 18 games and have already clinched their 18th division title in team history.

-Winners of eight of its last nine road contests, Green Bay also has clinched a first-round bye for the first time since 1997.

-No two professional football teams have met on the gridiron more than the Packers and Bears. The two clubs sit No. 1 and 2 in world championships (Packers 12, Bears 9) and also No. 1 and 2 for most players enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame (Bears 26, Packers 21).

-The two teams have enjoyed recent success as well, with the last seven division titles going to Green Bay (4) and Chicago (3).

K Mason Crosby Voted NFL Rookie Of The Week

Voters on NFL.com and via Sprint wireless service have made their choice. Kicker MASON CROSBY of the Green Bay Packers is the DIET PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK for games played on December 13 - 17, the NFL announced Friday.

Crosby went four-for-four in field goals, including a long 50-yard field goal and 46-yard and 44-yard kicks, and three-for-three in extra points in the Packers' 33 - 14 win over the St. Louis Rams.

Crosby was selected from among five finalists through fan votes on NFL.com and via Sprint wireless service. The other finalists were defensive end GAINES ADAMS of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, wide receiver ANTHONY GONZALEZ of the Indianapolis Colts, quarterback MATT MOORE of the Carolina Panthers and running back ADRIAN PETERSON of the Minnesota Vikings.

(How did Pickett do today?)
He was in the rehab group today. I have not gotten a report on how his rehab went. He was there for the jog-through and then he came back up top for rehab.

(Is it a tough decision with him, not wanting to make it worse?)
He's ready to play. He feels very good about the progress that he's made throughout the week. That's something with 48 hours left to the game that we need to be smart with. Ryan wants to play, he feels that he's ready to play, and Pat McKenzie is a little more cautious at this point. We'll take him all the way to the game because we still have two days left.

(What do you lose if Ryan's not in there?)
Very consistent, very good player for us all through last year and again this year. He's clearly the anchor, the two-gap. You talk about staying square, all the basic fundamentals and technique that are important in playing defensive tackle, particularly in the run game..

(Looked like Pickett was testing on the side. How did he do?)
I have no idea. I have not talked to the trainers yet. But Ryan's status hasn't changed. We'll be smart with him throughout the week, and we'll make a decision at the end of the week if he'll play.

(Will you take the team outside at all, or does opening the doors of the Hutson Center take care of the cold?)
The opening the doors was what we were trying to accomplish as far as the weather. Going out on the Astroturf is something I'm not in favor of, or the FieldTurf. That's probably the way we'll go in the future.

(Why don't you like it?)
It's a different surface. I feel more comfortable on the FieldTurf in the Hutson Center. It's just a preference, and also the quality of practice, taking the wind out is a factor. You always have a quality practice in the Hutson Center.

(At 12-2 and with only four Pro Bowl players, are you shocked by the voting?)
Shocked? I wouldn't say I was shocked. Let me just say this, the Pro Bowl is something positive. It's a reflection of your football team. You have individuals being honored. We had four, some will go as starters. You look at the other, we have 10 individuals as alternates. I look at that as a positive. Am I surprised that a couple guys didn't make it? I would definitely say yes. If you look at Charles Woodson, I've had conversations with national media about him being a Defensive Player of the Year candidate. So he doesn't go to the Pro Bowl, you can question that. I think Nick Barnett has played outstanding in our two years together. Chad Clifton, if you've ever had to play without a top-notch left tackle then you would probably appreciate Chad more. We have individuals like that. It is a bit disappointing. But once again, the Pro Bowl is something positive. You have to be happy for the ..

RECEIVE VISITS FROM PACKERS PLAYERS TUESDAY

Eighteen Green Bay area schools collected a total of 24,532 pounds of food for this year's Packers Women's Association Food Drive. Nearly 12,000 total students participated.

To recognize the students and congratulate them for their efforts, three schools received visits Tuesday from Packers players.

Notre Dame Elementary & Middle School, De Pere, took first place honors among the schools involved, collecting 14.6 pounds of food per student. Notre Dame also captured top honors in 2003, 2004 and 2006. Wide receiver Koren Robinson and tight end Ryan Krause addressed students at an all-school assembly.

Westwood Elementary School, De Pere, took second place honors, collecting 5.9 pounds per student.
Four Packers Earn Pro Bowl Selections

Represented by two selections on each side of the ball, the Green Bay Packers learned Tuesday that quarterback Brett Favre, wide receiver Donald Driver, defensive end Aaron Kampman and cornerback Al Harris were named Pro Bowl selections by the National Football League.

Three Packers players were named first alternates: linebacker Nick Barnett, tackle Chad Clifton and cornerback Charles Woodson.

For Favre, this marks the ninth Pro Bowl selection of his career and first since 2003. This season, the NFC's leader in passing yards has broken some of the league's most hallowed records, including career touchdown passes, passing yards and wins.

Driver earns his second consecutive and third career Pro Bowl selection. He tied a franchise record with 1,000 receiving yards in a fifth overall season, joining Sterling Sharpe and Pro Football Hall of Famer James Lofton as one of three Packers to achieve that feat.

Mike McCarthy Press Conference Transcript - Dec. 17

OK, I'll start with the two significant injuries from the game. Korey Hall had a hip strain. He may be a couple weeks. And Ryan Pickett had a groin strain. He'll be day to day. With that I'll take your questions.

(How do you handle playing time for the veterans now that you have the first-round bye, or has your thinking changed because of what happened with Dallas yesterday?)
Well, we've got two teams that are 12-2. We're playing for home-field advantage, and that will be our focus. But with that, we have been playing pretty much almost everybody at most of our positions and we'll continue with that mindset.

(Are you in a better situation if you do get into an area where you can rest players, because so many guys have gained experience?)
Absolutely. I think it's important for any football team to be operating on all cylinders. We have competitive situations at a number of positions. The game of football in today's NFL is such an..

Mike McCarthy Post-Game Press Conference Transcript - Dec. 16

(How important was the win to get the first-round bye?)
Very, very important. The win today gives us the first-round bye, and we'll be smart as we move forward with the health with our football team. We've been smart all along, starting with our training camp - that great schedule that you guys all loved. We'll continue to move forward. Chicago is still an important game, but it definitely gives us a chance to get some people back.

(What was the difference between the first half and the second half?)
Well, we didn't play very well in some spots in the first half. Our tackling on defense needed to improve, and I think they definitely did that in the second half. I thought our defense was outstanding in the second half. Offensively, we had some opportunities both in the first and second half. We had a favorable play call versus a pressure and we did not execute. They did a better job of that - give credit to the Rams. I'll say for the who..

Packers-Rams Press Box Notes

PACKERS TRAVEL TO ST. LOUIS TO FACE RAMS
Green Bay heads to St. Louis to face the Rams one week after clinching the NFC North title. It is the 18th division crown in franchise history.

-The Packers come into the matchup winners of 15 of their last 17 games and stand in second place in the NFC by virtue of their 11-2 record.

-The team also has won seven of its last eight road contests.

-It is also coming off what could be the most balanced performance of the season. Green Bay excelled in all three phases last Sunday against Oakland. A balanced offensive attack tallied 445 total net yards (266 passing, 179 rushing), while the defense surrendered just 233 yards, its best output of the season. But perhaps its best effort came from the special teams unit, which scored twice in the division-clinching win.

-Green Bay hopes to avenge perhaps its most maddening loss of 2006, a 23-20 setback last October. On that occasion, quarterback Bret..

Richard 'Ike' Eisenhauer Named 10th Member Of Packers FAN Hall Of Fame

Richard 'Ike' Eisenhauer of Wauwatosa, Wis., was named the 10th member of the Green Bay Packers FAN Hall of Fame at a press conference Friday at Lambeau Field.

Eisenhauer, 74, was nominated by his daughter, Ginger, and was selected by fans from 10 finalists during a voting period that closed Dec. 7. Thousands of votes were cast from throughout the United States and countries around the world.

In nominating her father, Ginger wrote of Eisenhauer's 50-plus years supporting the team and how he met his to-be wife, Alice, at a Packers game. The family, which includes nine children, refers to the family season tickets as "Sacred Packer Tickets."

Eisenhauer's devotion to the Packers evoked many family memories. One son, Dennis, heard Lombardi's name so often, he thought it was his last name. Another son, Paul, cut his hand in a fall and was told to wrap it in a towel and they'd go to the hospital at h..

(Did Bush hurt his calf on the sideline on Sunday, avoiding a play or something?)
I couldn't tell you the specifics of it, what play. But he was injured during the game.

(Who takes his spot then?)
We'll find out Sunday. They'll all play.

(Can you talk about the example Chad Clifton sets with his durability?)
Chad does a great job getting himself ready during the course of the week. He's had a shoulder this week. Does all the extra as far as treatments in the training room. He's a very skilled player for us at left tackle, and the way we're designed offensively as far as our protection schemes and so forth, you have to have a left tackle with his ability. He gives us great flexibility to do some things where we don't have to help him or slide to him a bunch. He's able to handle their primary pass rusher pretty much week-in and week-out.

(How does he help the younger offensive linemen?)

(You're focused on St. Louis, but you could become the first Packers team to win 14 games. Is that something you think about?)
It's something I haven't thought about it. Any time you say the first time in Packers history, that means a lot. I think those are the types of things, when the season is completed, that you look back on and appreciate. But we are focused on St. Louis. That would be an excellent accomplishment.

(Now that you've clinched the division, is there anything that sticks out about how it all came together?)
I've talked about it over and over again as I stand up here week in and week out, our football team finished strong last year. I think a number of things came into place for us late in the season. We carried it into the offseason. I think the players did a great job of utilizing the offseason program. You saw the individual improvement throughout our football team. Add another good draft class. I think our veteran pl..

The Green Bay Packers have claimed defensive tackle Conrad Bolston on waivers from Minnesota. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, made the announcement Wednesday.

Bolston spent the first 12 weeks of the season on the Vikings' practice squad before he was signed to the active roster Nov. 28. He appeared in one game and was credited with a tackle.

A 6-foot-4, 300-pound player from Maryland, Bolston originally signed with the Vikings as a non-drafted free agent in May 2007. He appeared in 44 games (30 starts) for the Terrapins and totaled 10 career sacks.

Bolston will wear No. 93.

Will Blackmon Named Special Teams Player Of The Week

Quarterback TODD COLLINS of the Washington Redskins, cornerback MARCUS TRUFANT of the Seattle Seahawks and punt returner-cornerback WILL BLACKMON of the Green Bay Packers are the NFC Offensive, defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played the 14th week of the 2007 season (December 6, 9-10), the NFL announced Wednesday.

SPECIAL TEAMS: PR-CB WILL BLACKMON, GREEN BAY PACKERS
Blackmon became the fourth player in NFL history with a punt-return touchdown and a fumble-return touchdown in the same game as the Packers clinched the NFC North with a 38-7 win over Oakland. The last player to accomplish the feat was LEMAR PARRISH in 1974. Blackmon had a 57-yard punt-return touchdown in the second quarter to increase Green Bay's lead to 14-0 and he recovered a fumble off a muffed punt in the end zone during the third quarter. Blackmon is the first Packer to score two special teams touchdowns in a game since TRAVIS WILLIAMS in 1969.

Lee Remmel, a man who has been associated with the Green Bay Packers since the Curly Lambeau era, will retire Dec. 31, celebrating a 62-year relationship with the storied franchise.

A member of the Packers' front office since 1974, Remmel led the organization's public relations and publicity efforts until 2004, when he became the Packers' team historian, an honor bestowed upon him by then-Packers CEO Bob Harlan. Prior to joining the team's front office, Remmel was a sportswriter and columnist for the Green Bay Press-Gazette for nearly 30 years, covering his first Packers game in 1945 in Milwaukee.

"It's time...and then some," Remmel said of his finishing up one of the NFL's most respected front office careers. "I have enjoyed a 62-year association with the Packers - first as a reporter for the Press-Gazette, and then 33 years as an employee of the organization. It's been a long and satisfying career for the greatest sports franchise in the universe.

Brady Poppinga Selected As Packers' Walter Payton NFL Man Of The Year

Packers linebacker Brady Poppinga was selected as the Packers' 2007 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year.

As the Packers' winner of the award, Poppinga will direct a $1,000 donation to the Invisible Children, an organization that supports school children in war-torn areas of Uganda. He also is nominated for the league-wide award to be selected from 32 NFL players. The overall NFL winner will be chosen by a blue ribbon panel in December and recognized at a press conference during Super Bowl week in Arizona. The winner will receive a $25,000 donation to the 501(c)3 organization of his choice.

Ultra-intense and enthusiastic, the third-year strong-side linebacker has developed into a reliable all-around player, capable of laying the big hit on a ballcarrier, receiver or quarterback. Despite a very serious injury that sidelined him for nine months, Poppinga has played in 41 of a possible 45 games in his career, starting all nine so far this season. He has amassed 138 total ..

Packers Hall Of Fame To Induct Gilbert Brown, Frank Winters And Al Treml

The <a href="http://www.packershalloffame.org/"target="new">Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, Inc., Tuesday announced former nose tackle Gilbert Brown, center Frank Winters and video director Al Treml will be inducted into the Hall at the 38th Hall of Fame Induction Banquet, to be held the evening of July 19, 2008, in the Lambeau Field Atrium.

Brown, a fan favorite during his 10-year career (1993-99, 2001-03), was one of the greatest run stuffers of his era. He is one of four true defensive linemen to have played 10 seasons for the Packers. Only Dave Hanner (13, 1952-64), Henry Jordan (11, 1659-69) and Ezra Johnson (11, 1977-87) played longer in a Green Bay uniform. Obtained on waivers from Minnesota during 1993 training camp, Brown played 125 Packers games (103 starts) recording 292 tackles (186 solo) and seven sacks.

As far as the ground award goes, longtime standouts LaDainian Tomlinson and Fred Taylor have earned their candidacy. Joining those familiar performers are young up-and-comers quarterback Jay Cutler and running back Ryan Grant.

Mike McCarthy Press Conference Transcript - Dec. 10

(Anything new on Barnett's eye?)
He was treated. Just talking with Dr. McKenzie, we're sending him to an eye doctor today, but he doesn't think it's serious.

(Did you see that poke on tape?)
No I didn't.

(How's Clifton's shoulder?)
Clifton has a right shoulder sprain. He probably won't practice until Friday. But I think he'll be ready to go this week.

(Who would be the guy there if he can't go?)
Daryn Colledge would be the left tackle.

(Was it hard to be talked into keeping Blackmon active for those two months?)
Was it hard? You just have to trust your medical people in that type of situation. I thought Dr. McKenzie did a very good job of assessing the injury, and Will and the rehab staff did a very good job of staying after it and showing progress. And it's ultimately Ted Thompson's call. So I didn't think it was hard at all. He showed yesterday how valu..

I'll start with the injuries. Nick Barnett was poked in the eye. He returned in the second half. Chad Clifton was kicked in his shin and he did return. Chad also had a shoulder and we held him out after that. Charles Woodson was held in the fourth quarter. That was my decision.

(Can you talk about the offense and the running game?)
It's been an emphasis because of lack of productivity earlier in the year. We spent a lot of extra time on it this week. It was our primary focus coming into this game. I can't say enough about Ryan Grant. He's really coming into his own. You can see the comfort level that he has in the scheme. He's doing a great job when he gets to the second level of breaking tackles. We're very pleased with him. The run-blocking unit is getting better. I thought our guard play was solid. We have some things that we need to continue to work on but I was proud of the way we ran the ball today.

(How is Favre's elbow?)

Packers Season Ticket Holders Claim All Available Playoff Tickets

In the event the Green Bay Packers host a home playoff game (or games) at Lambeau Field, all available tickets have been claimed by season ticket holders, Packers ticket director Mark Wagner said Saturday.

Wagner reported that 'Green' package ticket holders returned invoices accounting for 87 percent of the slightly more than 62,000 seats available. The remaining 13 percent of the seats are in the process of being allocated randomly to 'Gold' package ticket holders. 'Gold' package ticket holders not selected will have their checks returned next week.

In a further breakdown of the process, Wagner noted 93 percent of 'Green' package ticket holders opted to purchase their available tickets.

Playoff tickets will be mailed to ticket holders later this month.

Packers-Raiders Press Box Notes

PACKERS WRAP UP AFC SCHEDULE WITH RAIDERS
-Green Bay welcomes Oakland to Lambeau Field this weekend for the first time since 1999.

-Prior to that 1999 meeting, the Raiders' last trip to Wisconsin was in 1993, when LeRoy Butler spontaneously invented the 'Lambeau Leap'.

-The Packers come into the matchup winners of 14 of their last 16 games and stand in second place in the NFC by virtue of their 10-2 record.

-Green Bay looks to avoid consecutive losses for the first time in over one calendar year. The Packers last lost back-to-back games in Weeks 12-13 last year (Nov. 27 - Dec. 3).

-The Packers hope to continue their dominance over the AFC West. They have won five straight against the division and eight of their last 10, dating back to a 1996 victory over Denver.

-The first meeting between the two clubs came on the biggest of stages at Super Bowl II in Miami in January 1968. That day, the Packers won their second consecutiv..

(Will Favre have to wear any kind of sleeve on his right arm Sunday?)
I have not asked him that. I don't think Brett will be hindered from his injury. He practiced at full strength today. Based on what he's going to wear on his arm, I couldn't tell you. He's been wearing a sleeve in practice, so he may wear it in the game. I'm not sure.

(Did he air it out today?)
Yeah. I thought he threw the ball well today.

(What was Woodson able to do today?)
Charles participated mostly in the team drills. He took his share of reps. I thought he looked pretty good. It'll be interesting to see how he responds in the morning after practicing. He's really picked up the progress as far as rehab and what he's been doing on the treadmill all week, and he looked pretty natural out there today. So tomorrow will be a big day for him.

(Is that why he's questionable, because you don't know how he'll be tomorrow?)

Mike McCarthy Press Conference Transcript - Dec. 5

(How was practice today with your top two quarterbacks limited?)
It's different. I thought Craig Nall did an excellent job. He took every rep today in the passing game. For him to come in with a new language, it's different from his time here in the past, I thought he did a good job with that. It was really a quality practice. We probably had too much energy at times. We had some extra-curricular activity after a few plays. That's a product of our players not practicing for some time. It's really a joy to coach this group. They really enjoy practice. They get after practice. Sometimes it gets to be a little much. We had a good practice as far as a Wednesday is concerned.

(Did Rodgers hurt his hamstring at the beginning of practice, or yesterday?)
On the last play of yesterday's practice he strained his hamstring. Today, he did not throw very well. He's day-to-day with him. We don't have any history with him. He's never done that before. ..

Packers-Raiders Week 14 Dope Sheet

Two years after he co-founded the Packers with Curly Lambeau, George Calhoun began writing a piece called The Dope Sheet, which served as the official press release and game program from 1921-24.
Mike McCarthy Press Conference Transcript - Dec. 4

(What factored into the decision to bring in Craig Nall?)
It was really our plan all along, at this point in the season, to add a third quarterback. Just getting ready for the playoff run. It was something we really planned all along, to answer your question, as far as the makeup of our roster.

(What does Nall give you over some other options?)
Veteran quarterback, has an idea of the system. He was here before. He's played in games, and we just felt he was the best fit for our stretch right here.

(What were your impressions of Mark Murphy?)
Very impressed with Mark Murphy in the time I was able to spend with him. I thought he was a very down-to-earth individual. We had a nice visit. I was very impressed with him. I'm looking forward to working with him.

(How did Brett's elbow progress and what's the plan for him?)
Well, the medical staff would like to hold him until Thursday, Bret..

Shovelers Needed Wednesday Morning For Lambeau Field Snow Removal

With last weekend's snowfall, the Green Bay Packers are putting out the "help wanted" call to help with snow removal from Lambeau Field.

Ted Eisenreich, the Packers' director of facility operations, is seeking recruits - as many as 300 - to shovel out Lambeau Field tomorrow, Dec. 5, in preparation for the team's game Sunday, Dec. 9, vs. the Oakland Raiders.

He asks all who might be interested in lending a hand to report to the Mills Fleet Farm Gate on Lambeau Field's west side, beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday and continuing throughout the day.

The Packers will provide shovels to all who come to help.

Shovelers, who need to be at least 15 years old, will receive $8 per hour, with payment to be made immediately upon completion of their work, Eisenreich said.

'Festival Of Lights At Lambeau Field' Set For Dec. 8

A 45-foot tree on the St. Norbert College campus in De Pere, Wis., has been selected to be the centerpiece for the second annual 'Festival of Lights at Lambeau Field.'

The event, presented by the Green Bay Packers and Festival Foods, will take place Saturday, Dec. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The tree, located at 402 Third St. on De Pere's west side, is outside the parish office of Old St. Joseph Church. The tree rests on land that eventually will be home to the college's new Miriam B. and James J. Mulva Library, and was slated for removal.

Cathie Puyleart, the office manager for the parish, submitted the proposal to the Packers and wrote her entry as if it came from the tree itself.

Titled "Letting My Light Shine," the essay begins, "Let me shine one last time at the Festival of Lights in all my majesty! My fate is one of darkness as the college will soon be excavating for the Mulva Library where I reside. I have captured the eyes of many, especially durin..
