Ticket Plans Announced For Possible Super Bowl Appearance By Packers

Should the Green Bay Packers advance to Super Bowl XLII, the bulk of the ticket allotment, per usual practice, will be made available to season ticket holders, the team announced Monday.

Packers Chairman Bob Harlan reiterated the organization's longstanding policy in addressing ticket allocations in the event that the Packers would capture the National Football Conference championship and the right to meet the American Football Conference champions in the Super Bowl at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., on Sunday, Feb. 3.

"The loyalty of our season ticket holders has been outstanding, as evidenced by our season-ticket sellouts since 1960." Harlan said. "Because of that unyielding support, we are going to make sure Super Bowl tickets are available to as many of them as possible. We believe the plan we have in place is fair to all our season ticket holders."

For his performance vs. the Detroit Lions, running back Brandon Jackson was chosen as the 'Packers Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week.' The exhibit contains memorabilia from the victory over the Lions, including a game ball autographed by Jackson.

The rookie second-round draft pick had his best game as a pro, rushing 20 times for 113 yards.

The Hall of Fame's weekly exhibit, 'The Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week,' contains memorabilia from each week's game, including a game ball autographed by a featured player of the week.

Each Monday new items from the previous game will be placed in the display to be viewed by visitors to the Hall. Included among the items will be the autographed game ball, which at the end of the week will be awarded randomly to a Hall of Fame visitor who signed up for the free raffle drawing.

Momentum. Starting the game the way you're supposed to, jumping on your opponent. They came out of the gate with a big kickoff return. I thought our defense responded holding them to three points. We responded with the three touchdowns. I liked the way we started the game. The fundamentals, I'm sure when we look at the film we'll feel a lot better about the progress we made this week getting back to the basics. That showed up today. Playing all of our younger players and the improvement that gives you with depth, there are a number of positives that came out of this game today.

Marine Corporal Ryan Lenser and his family were guests of the Packers and Festival Foods at today's game vs. the Detroit Lions for 'Operation Fan Mail.'

Lenser, a native of Eagle, Wis., currently serves in the United States Marine Corps in the 3rd Battalion, 1st Division, Kilo Company. A member of the weapons platoon, he is a forward observer. Stationed in Camp Pendleton, Calif., Lenser enlisted in 2004 and is a veteran of two deployments to Iraq. During his service he has received two Meritorious Masts, a Good Conduct Medal and a Certificate of Commendation for leadership.

Lesner was joined Sunday by his wife, Jamie, and his parents, Don and Karen Lenser.

Friday's snowfall is significant enough to require snow removal Saturday from Lambeau Field in preparation for Sunday's game.

Ted Eisenreich, Packers director of facility operations, is seeking as many as 300 shovelers to assist at Lambeau Field tomorrow, Dec. 29.

Anyone interested in lending a hand is asked to report to the Mills Fleet Farm Gate on Lambeau Field's west side, beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday and continuing throughout the day.

The Packers will provide shovels to all who come to help.

Shovelers, who need to be at least 15 years old, will receive $8 per hour, with payment to be made immediately upon completion of their work.

The Green Bay Packers Wednesday put out the "help wanted" request to assist with snow removal Thursday from Lambeau Field.

Well, I'll say this, Chicago handled it a lot better than we did. There is no doubt about that. It's no excuse. Our performance was poor today in all three phases. We did not handle the football every well. We had the ball on the ground too many times, Chicago did not. They handled the ball very well. The footing we tried to emphasize as much as we could the last couple of days. Playing with good balance, keeping your feet underneath you. I felt we were on the ground way too much today, so we didn't handle it very well.

While Packers fans eagerly are anticipating this Sunday's contest with the longtime rival Chicago Bears, they also are making preparations for the divisional playoffs the weekend of Jan. 12-13.

Packers season ticket holders have claimed all available playoff tickets, but fans do have a chance to win coveted tickets to the game on the team's Web site, Packers.com.

RECEIVE VISITS FROM PACKERS PLAYERS TUESDAY

Eighteen Green Bay area schools collected a total of 24,532 pounds of food for this year's Packers Women's Association Food Drive. Nearly 12,000 total students participated.

To recognize the students and congratulate them for their efforts, three schools received visits Tuesday from Packers players.

Notre Dame Elementary & Middle School, De Pere, took first place honors among the schools involved, collecting 14.6 pounds of food per student. Notre Dame also captured top honors in 2003, 2004 and 2006. Wide receiver Koren Robinson and tight end Ryan Krause addressed students at an all-school assembly.

Three Packers players were named first alternates: linebacker Nick Barnett, tackle Chad Clifton and cornerback Charles Woodson.

For Favre, this marks the ninth Pro Bowl selection of his career and first since 2003. This season, the NFC's leader in passing yards has broken some of the league's most hallowed records, including career touchdown passes, passing yards and wins.

For his performance vs. the St. Louis Rams, safety Atari Bigby was chosen as the 'Packers Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week.' The exhibit contains memorabilia from the victory over the Rams, including a game ball autographed by Bigby.

Very, very important. The win today gives us the first-round bye, and we'll be smart as we move forward with the health with our football team. Richard 'Ike' Eisenhauer of Wauwatosa, Wis., was named the 10th member of the Green Bay Packers FAN Hall of Fame at a press conference Friday at Lambeau Field.

Eisenhauer, 74, was nominated by his daughter, Ginger, and was selected by fans from 10 finalists during a voting period that closed Dec. 7. Thousands of votes were cast from throughout the United States and countries around the world.

In nominating her father, Ginger wrote of Eisenhauer's 50-plus years supporting the team and how he met his to-be wife, Alice, at a Packers game. The family, which includes nine children, refers to the family season tickets as "Sacred Packer Tickets."

The Green Bay Packers have claimed defensive tackle Conrad Bolston on waivers from Minnesota. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, made the announcement Wednesday.

Bolston spent the first 12 weeks of the season on the Vikings' practice squad before he was signed to the active roster Nov. 28. He appeared in one game and was credited with a tackle.

A 6-foot-4, 300-pound player from Maryland, Bolston originally signed with the Vikings as a non-drafted free agent in May 2007. He appeared in 44 games (30 starts) for the Terrapins and totaled 10 career sacks.

Lee Remmel, a man who has been associated with the Green Bay Packers since the Curly Lambeau era, will retire Dec. 31, celebrating a 62-year relationship with the storied franchise.

A member of the Packers' front office since 1974, Remmel led the organization's public relations and publicity efforts until 2004, when he became the Packers' team historian, an honor bestowed upon him by then-Packers CEO Bob Harlan. Prior to joining the team's front office, Remmel was a sportswriter and columnist for the Green Bay Press-Gazette for nearly 30 years, covering his first Packers game in 1945 in Milwaukee.

I'll start with the injuries. Nick Barnett was poked in the eye. He returned in the second half. Chad Clifton was kicked in his shin and he did return. Chad also had a shoulder and we held him out after that. Charles Woodson was held in the fourth quarter. That was my decision.

(Can you talk about the offense and the running game?)
It's been an emphasis because of lack of productivity earlier in the year. We spent a lot of extra time on it this week. It was our primary focus coming into this game. I can't say enough about Ryan Grant. He's really coming into his own. You can see the comfort level that he has in the scheme. He's doing a great job when he gets to the second level of breaking tackles. We're very pleased with him. The run-blocking unit is getting better. I thought our guard play was solid. We have some things that we need to continue to work on but I was proud of the way we ran the ball today.

Packers Season Ticket Holders Claim All Available Playoff Tickets

In the event the Green Bay Packers host a home playoff game (or games) at Lambeau Field, all available tickets have been claimed by season ticket holders, Packers ticket director Mark Wagner said Saturday.

Wagner reported that 'Green' package ticket holders returned invoices accounting for 87 percent of the slightly more than 62,000 seats available. The remaining 13 percent of the seats are in the process of being allocated randomly to 'Gold' package ticket holders. 'Gold' package ticket holders not selected will have their checks returned next week.

In a further breakdown of the process, Wagner noted 93 percent of 'Green' package ticket holders opted to purchase their available tickets.

Playoff tickets will be mailed to ticket holders later this month.

The 'Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year' trophy presented last Tuesday to Packers quarterback Brett Favre will be on display Sunday in the Lambeau Field Atrium from 8 a.m. to noon for fans attending the Packers-Raiders game.

The sterling silver trophy crafted by Tiffany & Co. then will be on display in the Packers Hall of Fame, beginning Monday, Dec. 10, and continuing through the end of December.

The Sportsman of the Year award is given annually by the magazine to the athlete who best symbolizes in character and performance the ideals of sportsmanship.

Favre is the fourth NFL player to be named Sportsman, and all have been quarterbacks: Terry Bradshaw (1979, with Willie Stargell), Joe Montana (1990) and Tom Brady (2005) were the others. Favre is the first Green Bay Packers player to earn the honor.

Marine Capt. Jeremy Hoffman, his brother, Army Lt. Adam Hoffman, and their family will be guests of the Packers and Festival Foods at Sunday's game vs. the Oakland Raiders for 'Operation Fan Mail.'

Capt. Jeremy Hoffmann, a Milwaukee native, currently serves as Executive Officer for Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment. I have not asked him that. I don't think Brett will be hindered from his injury. He practiced at full strength today. Based on what he's going to wear on his arm, I couldn't tell you. He's been wearing a sleeve in practice, so he may wear it in the game. I'm not sure.

Yeah. I thought he threw the ball well today.

(What was Woodson able to do today?)
Charles participated mostly in the team drills. He took his share of reps. I thought he looked pretty good. It'll be interesting to see how he responds in the morning after practicing. He's really picked up the progress as far as rehab and what he's been doing on the treadmill all week, and he looked pretty natural out there today. So tomorrow will be a big day for him.

The yearly 'Toys for Tots' campaign will take place prior to Sunday's game vs. the Oakland Raiders.

Fans attending the contest are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys which will be distributed by the Salvation Army to children in need in the Green Bay area this holiday season. Monetary donations also will be accepted.

Members of the U.S. Marine Corps will be present at all gates leading into Lambeau Field, beginning at 8 a.m., to assist in collecting toys and monetary donations.

Totals collected will be announced during the game's second half.

Wayne Sackett, of West Salem High School, has been named Wisconsin Football Coaches Association/Green Bay Packers Coach of the Year, the organization announced Thursday.

The WFCA also announced the release of its All-state team and honorable mentions for the 2007 season.

Sackett received the honor following West Salem's title run. The Panthers (13-1) defeated previously unbeaten Kettle Moraine Lutheran, 52-14, at Camp Randall in Madison to win their first WIAA Division 4 State Championship.

"I am grateful to be recognized by my peers," said Sackett of the honor.

In the game West Salem senior quarterback Dan Schneider set championship game records with 292 passing yards and four touchdowns, both of which he had set before halftime while racking up a 38-0 lead. It's different. I thought Craig Nall did an excellent job. He took every rep today in the passing game. For him to come in with a new language, it's different from his time here in the past, I thought he did a good job with that. It was really a quality practice. We probably had too much energy at times. We had some extra-curricular activity after a few plays. That's a product of our players not practicing for some time. It's really a joy to coach this group. They really enjoy practice. They get after practice. Sometimes it gets to be a little much. We had a good practice as far as a Wednesday is concerned.

It was really our plan all along, at this point in the season, to add a third quarterback. Just getting ready for the playoff run. It was something we really planned all along, to answer your question, as far as the makeup of our roster.

Shovelers Needed Wednesday Morning For Lambeau Field Snow Removal

With last weekend's snowfall, the Green Bay Packers are putting out the "help wanted" call to help with snow removal from Lambeau Field.

Ted Eisenreich, the Packers' director of facility operations, is seeking recruits - as many as 300 - to shovel out Lambeau Field tomorrow, Dec. 5, in preparation for the team's game Sunday, Dec. 9, vs. the Oakland Raiders.

He asks all who might be interested in lending a hand to report to the Mills Fleet Farm Gate on Lambeau Field's west side, beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday and continuing throughout the day.

The Packers will provide shovels to all who come to help.

Shovelers, who need to be at least 15 years old, will receive $8 per hour, with payment to be made immediately upon completion of their work, Eisenreich said.

'Festival Of Lights At Lambeau Field' Set For Dec. 8

A 45-foot tree on the St. Norbert College campus in De Pere, Wis., has been selected to be the centerpiece for the second annual 'Festival of Lights at Lambeau Field.'

The event, presented by the Green Bay Packers and Festival Foods, will take place Saturday, Dec. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The tree, located at 402 Third St. on De Pere's west side, is outside the parish office of Old St. Joseph Church. The tree rests on land that eventually will be home to the college's new Miriam B. and James J. Mulva Library, and was slated for removal.

Cathie Puyleart, the office manager for the parish, submitted the proposal to the Packers and wrote her entry as if it came from the tree itself.

The Green Bay Packers have signed quarterback Craig Nall and released safety Marviel Underwood. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, made the announcement Saturday.

Nall, originally a fifth-round pick by Green Bay in 2002, spent four seasons (2002-05) with the Packers. A 6-foot-3, 230-pound player, he played with the Buffalo Bills in 2006 and has spent time with the Bills and Houston Texans in 2007.
