Having survived the local and sectional competitions, 40 youngsters from throughout Wisconsin will compete in the Team Championships of the NFL/Pepsi Punt, Pass and Kick Competition before the Packers-49ers game, Sunday, Nov. 23 at Lambeau Field.

Divided into four age divisions (8/9, 10/11, 12/13 and 14/15) with boys and girls competing separately, the participants in each age group will compete for an all-expenses-paid trip to the National Finals at an NFL playoff game in January.

Brock Makholm (boys age 8-9), grandson of Packers director of corporate security Jerry Parins, and Mitch Wagner (boys 10-11), son of Packers director of ticket operations Mark Wagner, are among six local participants competing in the tournament.

Shannon Gilbertson, Green Bay (girls 10-11); Shana Vandertie, Kewaunee (girls 12-13); Matthew Rickert, Bowler (boys 12-13); and Alicia O'Donnell, Green Bay (girls 14-15) also advanced to the Team Championships.

Last year, local competitors Joshua Davidson from Barron, Wis. (boys 10/11) and Natalie Baumgardt from Wausau/Mosinee, Wis. (girls 12/13), won the National Championships for their respective divisions at The Coliseum (Tennessee Titans) in Nashville.
