Rhein Fire cornerback Therrian Fontenot writes a diary for Packers.com, logging his NFL Europe venture. He was awarded Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday for his two-interception performance in the team's 22-0- win over the Berlin Thunder. This week he writes about the award, team chemistry, life in Germany and his international teammates.

I found out I won the award on Wednesday. It is definitely a good feeling. Our defense is playing really well (ranked No. 1 in the league). We've been coached really well and we're starting to gel as a team. Day by day we're taking it as a challenge to stop the opposite opponent. Our chemistry is improving, and that's the reason we're making strides. Everybody gets along in practice and off the field, which helps make the team stronger.

I said in training camp that my goal was to not give up a single touchdown and I'm sticking to that. I'm just trying to get better and better as we go. I just take advantage of all the reps I'm getting in practice and preparing for the next opponent. It's been a blast.

I got my first start this last game and ended up with two interceptions. On the first pick, we were in the redzone and I came underneath on a dig route. I saw the receiver put his eyes up. So I put my eyes up and just grabbed the ball as it hung in the air. On the second interception, I was the man trailing and just saw the ball coming and ran and got it.

I'm adjusting well to life here. The food has been really good. I was told a lot of different things about the food before coming over, but we eat really well over here. We've done a little shopping over here but haven't really seen too many sites yet. Traveling is pretty much the same as in the states -- you get on a plane with your teammates, arrive at the airport and are given an escort to the hotel.

There hasn't been a huge language barrier. It seems most of the younger generation speaks English, which is usually who we're interacting with anyways. The people out here are really nice and the fans are great over here. They really come out and support us and they're really loud.

It's also been a cool experience to have some international players on our team. It's been fun to try and learn a little bit of the language from each guy. We have guys from different countries, including a receiver from Japan, Syoei Hasegawa, who is a pretty good player, but he has been on I.R. lately

I want to say hi to all my family and my girlfriend for supporting me while I'm out here.
