| Legendary Lambeau Experience is the Golden (and Green) Opportunity for Fans
posted 08/13/2007 Bring your Packers t-shirt or jersey and walking shoes to Lambeau Field because the gem of the greater Green Bay area is opening its doors to visitors in a new way this training camp. For Packers fans that want to keep-up with the team, on and off the field, the Legendary Lambeau Experience offers a sneak peek into the inner workings of 1265 Lombardi Avenue. Start off by feeding your linebacker-sized appetite at the Hall of Fame Grill and save up your energy for the popular, two-hour tour. Then review your Packers history with a visit to the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame. Or, do both since they're included with the Legendary Lambeau Experience. "We wanted to create an experience for Packers fans," said Krissy Zegers, manager of the Packers Hall of Fame and Stadium Tours. "The two-hour tour has been extremely popular with fans because they get to see areas of Lambeau Field that no one else gets to see. The Legendary Lambeau Experience allows guests to spend the day at the Atrium and enjoy everything it has to offer." "We happened to be here at the right time" said Susan Severance a Packer-backer visiting Lambeau with her husband, Tom. "It was something we wanted to take advantage of," she added. Despite calling California their home, Tom and Susan continue to come back to cheer on their team saying, "Nothing compares to Lambeau." The Severences were not alone in their admiration of the facilities. Numerous individuals traced the footsteps of former and current Packers greats through the tunnel out to the frozen tundra and had the chance to check out the view from the Club Level. Fans on this in-depth two-hour tour are treated to visits in "behind-the-scenes locales" such as the visitors' locker room, Lee Remmel Press Box and the Packers' assistant coaches booth . For those that have dreamed of calling the play-by-play action on game day, the Legendary Lambeau Experience offers visitors the chance to stand in the very place where John Madden and Al Michaels broadcast the game on television and where Wayne Larrivee and Larry McCarren call the action on the radio. Jim Lock, and his two sons Joe and Mike, traveled from Wautoma to see these highlights and experience their first tour of Lambeau Field. "I'd hang my jersey there," Joe Lock said when asked about the visitors' locker room. The Packers give their visitors a warm welcome and tour participants mentioned their surprise at how nice the locker for incoming opponents was. "The view was amazing," Jim Lock said of the press box. "I don't think there's a bad seat in the place" he added. "I liked seeing all the things I wouldn't normally see," Susan Severance said in praising the thoroughness of the tour. Fans continue to give the tour their gold medal for excellence and can really save some "green" by taking advantage of everything the tour has to offer. "We really enjoyed it" Lock and his sons said. They'll take home their memories and a souvenir seat cushion to remember their Legendary Lambeau Experience.
