Lenny McGill
College Scout (Central Plains)
A former Packers cornerback and five-year NFL veteran, Lenny McGill is in his eighth season as a college scout for Green Bay. With emphasis primarily on the Central Plains region, he officially joined the team in an off-the-field capacity on Feb. 2, 2000.
The 36-year-old McGill began his pro career as a player by spending two seasons with the Packers (1994-95) before moving on to Atlanta for a two-year stint (1996-97), then spending his last NFL season with Carolina (1998). McGill, who played in 62 games as a pro, made four interceptions during his NFL career, including two important thefts with Green Bay during his '94 rookie season.
A two-year starter and four-time letterman at Arizona State (1990-93), McGill received honorable mention All-Pacific 10 Conference honors as a senior. Earlier, he had been voted the Sun Devils' 'Most Improved Defensive Player' following his junior season. He totaled 127 tackles (87 solo), six interceptions and 16 passes defensed as a collegian.
McGill also lettered three seasons for the ASU track and field team, finishing second in the triple jump at the 1991 conference championships. He graduated in 1994 with a degree in criminal justice.
While attending Orange Glen High School in Escondido, Calif., McGill lettered four years each in football, basketball and track. He was rated as one of the top 10 defensive backs in the country by The Sporting News during his senior year, and also was ranked the No. 1 high school triple jumper in the nation in 1989, with a jump of 51-2. McGill additionally was voted both homecoming king and student body president in high school. In 2002, he was inducted into the San Diego High School Sports Hall of Fame.
Born Charles Leonard McGill in Long Beach, Calif., McGill is single and resides in Broomfield, Colo. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, dining out, watching movies and snowboarding.
