Aaron Rodgers named Air NFL Player of the Week

Players' cities each receive $2,000 donation for local Junior Achievement chapters


The NFL announced today that quarterback AARON RODGERSof the Green Bay Packers and running back MATT FORTEof the Chicago Bears are the Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week for games played on October 2-3.

Aaron Rodgers completed 29 of 38 passes for 408 yards, four touchdowns and an interception in the Packers' 49-23 win over the Denver Broncos. His 134.5 quarterback rating was the highest of the weekend.

Matt Forte carried 25 times for 205 yards and a touchdown in the Bears' 34-29 win over the Carolina Panthers. His yardage output was the highest of any back on the weekend.

Rodgers and Forte were selected from among six finalists in Air and Ground categories. The other Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week finalists were quarterbacks ELI MANNING of the New York Giants and ALEX SMITH of the San Francisco 49ers, and running backs ARIAN FOSTER of the Houston Texans and RYAN TORAIN of the Washington Redskins.
