Harper Davis, who had been the oldest living former Green Bay Packers player, died Dec. 26, 2020, according to Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss.
Davis had turned 95 on Dec. 11. He played for the Packers in 1951, mostly as a defensive back. Previously, he played with the Los Angeles Dons of the All-America Football Conference in 1949 and the Chicago Bears in 1950. Later, Davis coached at Millsaps for 25 years, compiling a 138-79-4 record. He retired in 1988, following a 9-0 season, and the school named its football field after him in 2004.
With Davis' passing, Packers Hall of Famer Fred Cone is now the team's oldest living alumnus. Cone is 94. He played fullback and doubled from 1951-57.
