GREEN BAY – The Packers will be without receiver Davante Adams, safety Darnell Savage and tight end Robert Tonyan when they take the field Monday night against the Detroit Lions.
All three have been ruled out after not participating in Saturday’s final practice at Clarke Hinkle Field, while cornerback Tony Brown (hamstring) is listed as doubtful.
It’ll be the second consecutive game Adams has missed with the turf toe injury he sustained two weeks ago against Philadelphia, while Savage (ankle) and Tonyan (hip) exited last Sunday’s 34-24 win over Dallas and didn’t return.
Without Savage, third-year defensive back Will Redmond stepped in alongside veteran Adrian Amos and figures to play a significant role against Detroit as the only reserve safety currently on the 53-man roster.
The former third-round pick is coming off the best game of his NFL career against the Cowboys, recording six tackles on defense and another three on special teams.
“I felt great. My first game, I think that was a coming-out party for me,” said Redmond earlier this week. “I’m excited. I have a lot more to offer.”
Both center Corey Linsley and running back Jamaal Williams were cleared this week from the concussion protocol and are expected to play after practicing in full on Saturday.
“Obviously I didn’t get knocked out in the game like Jamaal did. So I think a guy like him could come back in two weeks is pretty amazing, too,” said Linsley after practice. “I feel fortunate that I’m not feeling any more symptoms and am ready to go.”
Brown returned to practice in a limited capacity Saturday, but didn’t participate on Thursday or Friday.
Fourteen others were removed from the injury report and are expected to be available Monday night: quarterback Aaron Rodgers (knee), tight ends Jimmy Graham (veteran rest) and Marcedes Lewis (heel), tackle Bryan Bulaga (veteran rest), receivers Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring/calf) and Darrius Shepherd (shoulder), defensive backs Kevin King (knee/groin), Tramon Williams (back) and Redmond (shoulder), linebackers Za’Darius Smith (knee), Oren Burks (chest) and Kyler Fackrell (shoulder), and defensive linemen Montravius Adams (shoulder) and Kenny Clark (calf).
Former Packers defensive tackle Mike Daniels (foot) didn’t practice this week and has been ruled out. Cornerback Amani Oruwariye (knee) was also ruled out with a knee.
Cornerback Darius Slay (hamstring), defensive linemen A'Shawn Robinson (knee) and Da'Shawn Hand (elbow), receiver Danny Amendola (chest) and defensive back Quandre Diggs (hamstring) are all questionable.
