GREEN BAY – Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur said running back Jamaal Williams is home and "doing well" after spending last night at a local hospital due to enduring a helmet-to-helmet hit in Thursday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fellow running back Aaron Jones and position coach Ben Sirmans were among the several Packers teammates who visited Williams prior to the third-year running back being discharged Friday morning.

Even in a hospital bed, Williams was his typical funny self.

"He was Jamaal, himself, making jokes," Jones said. "The nurse was like, 'Let me listen to your stomach' and he was like, 'For what? So you can hear how empty it is?' I was like, 'Oh yeah, he's perfectly fine. It's Jamaal.'"

Williams was carried off on a stretcher after being injured on the Packers' first offensive play following a helmet-the-helmet hit from Eagles defensive end Derek Barnett.

Williams, who caught a short pass from quarterback Aaron Rodgers on a check-down, was in the grasp of Eagles linebacker Nigel Bradham when Barnett came crashing in.

Barnett was flagged for unnecessary roughness but was not ejected from the game.

"Initially, I didn't know what happened until you see the replay and guys come off the field and alert you to it," Sirmans said. "I thought it was obviously an unnecessary play. You don't know what's going through a guy's head. You have to think it wasn't done purposely, the guy is just making a football play and trying to big aggressive in the big game but unfortunately within all that, somebody has to pay the price of potential injury. I saw (Williams) last night and he seems to be doing well."

Williams took to Instagram Friday morning to tell fans "it's all gonna be good" and that the "only thing hurting right now is my pride for not being able to finish the game with my team."

He also offered his prayers and wished "nothing but blessings and a speedy recovery" for Philadelphia cornerback Avonte Maddox, who was stretchered off the field in the fourth quarter following a hit from teammate Andrew Sendejo.
