The Lambeau Field parking lot will serve as a collection site from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 5, for The Family Radio Help for the Homeless Hygiene Drive and community members are asked to donate items during the drive-up event for those in need.
Community members are asked to donate hygiene items with the highest need, including laundry and dish soap, toilet paper and diapers sizes 3-6. Other needed items include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, razors, shaving cream, deodorant, hand soap, garbage bags, disinfecting cleaners and kitchen trash bags.
To contribute to the drive, the Green Bay Packers will donate over $5,000 of hygiene products purchased from Meijer, thanks to the NFL Social Responsibility Grant. In addition, the Packers will donate over 100 gallons of disinfectant, pallets of disinfectant wipes and items donated through staff and employee collections. Meijer will also join the effort, donating an additional $10,000 worth of products to the drive.
The items will be collected by 19 local shelters and support service programs and distributed to people and families in need in the community. Packers alumnus Bill Schroeder will also help collect items at the event between 9 and 11 a.m.
Donors can enter Lot 5 off Ridge Road and will be directed by signage to the proper location. Volunteers will take the products directly from donors' vehicles at the Lambeau Field parking lot.
