The Green Bay Packers and Sargento have raised $40,500 thus far in 2013 for the "Touchdowns for Charity" program to benefit the Wisconsin Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee County and Paul's Pantry in Green Bay. For each touchdown scored by the Packers during the 2013 regular season, Sargento donates $1,500 total (on 27 TDS thus far) to help fight hunger.
Since partnering 11 years ago, Sargento – the official cheese of the Green Bay Packers and Lambeau Field – has contributed more than $920,500 to Wisconsin food charities for touchdowns scored in regular and postseason games. In addition, Sargento raised $775 and secured 300 pounds of non-perishable food items as part of the "Touchdowns for Charity" recent food drive at Lambeau Field.
During Packers' home games, announcements are made after every touchdown indicating the support for the program. Packers.com features rotating advertisements, including a Sargento touchdown ticker, which provides the up-to-date donation total, as well.
In December, Packers running back Johnathan Franklinwill assist Sargento in presenting funds to both the Hunger Task Force and Paul's Pantry.
Sargento, a family-owned, Wisconsin-based company, is supporting Packers sponsorship throughout Wisconsin grocery retailers during the season with in-store product promotions to generate excitement with Packers fans. Sargento is also present at Lambeau in concessions with cheeseburgers featuring Sargento Deli Style Mild Cheddar cheese and breaded natural Cheddar cheese curds.
