Lambeau Field

The Green Bay Packers have signed TE Shaun Beyer, CB Benjie Franklin and WR Juwann Winfree (juh-wann) to the practice squad. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Thursday.

Beyer (6-5, 250), a first-year player out of the University of Iowa, was originally signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2021 and spent his rookie season on the Broncos' practice squad. He was released by Denver this past May and spent some time with the Minnesota Vikings in training camp. Beyer will wear No. 80 for the Packers.

Franklin (6-0, 172), a rookie out of Tarleton State, was originally signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars on May 5 before being released on Aug. 29. He played two seasons at Navarro Junior College before transferring to Tarleton State. In three years as a Texan, Franklin registered 103 tackles (83 solo), eight interceptions (two returned for TDs), 27 passes defensed, a fumble recovery and two blocked kicks. He will wear No. 41 for the Packers.

Winfree has spent time on the Packers' practice squad and active roster, appearing in nine games since joining Green Bay in October 2020.
