Packers sign T Jamon Meredith to active roster

WR Kevin Dorsey placed on injured reserve


The Green Bay Packers have signed T Jamon Meredith to the active roster and placed WR Kevin Dorsey on injured reserve. The transactions were announced Saturday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

Meredith, a 6-foot-5, 312-pound, sixth-year player was originally drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round (162nd overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft out of the University of South Carolina. After spending the first few weeks of the 2009 season on the Packers' practice squad he was signed to the Buffalo Bills active roster. Meredith went on to play in 10 games with four starts for the Bills before being released in early October, 2010. He was signed by the Detroit Lions for one game and then spent the rest of the 2010 season with the New York Giants, playing in three games. In 2011, Meredith saw action in four games for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Over the past two seasons (2012-13) he started 20 of 30 games played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Meredith played in four games for the Indianapolis Colts this season. He will wear No. 77 for the Packers.
